Last week marked the start of construction on its newest vessel, a custom-built 22m luxurious catamaran, with a traditional Keel Laying ceremony at the Gold Coast Marina & Shipyard in Coomera.

The $5 million build is an exciting milestone for south-east Queensland’s tourism offering, with the second vessel giving See Moreton the opportunity to grow it’s iconic day trip experience (which currently runs November to April each year) to deliver year-round adventures and a variety of new tours on Moreton Island (Mulgumpin).

Great to see the Gold Coast’s marine industry continue to grow and look forward to seeing the new boat come to life. Thanks to everyone who joined us, especially our media friends.

Last week Somerset College Headmaster Craig Bassingthwaighte announced that he will step down from the role at the end of 2024, before retiring in 2025.

Craig has served as the College's third Headmaster for over 16 years and has played a vital role in growing the College's position as one of the leading independent coeducational schools in Queensland over the years.

As Tony Hickey mentioned below, we will forever honour and be thankful for his service to the community. Congratulations Craig!
