🌟 School holidays almost did me in. And I have truly delightful children.

Whoever decided 2 MONTHS was the right length for school holidays must either:
a) be childless,
b) not run a business, or
c) be an archaic relic from the industrial age

HOW are families (cough, women) meant to juggle being loving, present parents and keep their livelihoods alive for such a long stretch? It’s beyond me.

I adore my kids. I love family time. But I also have to work. I’ve got clients to serve, projects to deliver, and (oh yeah) bills to pay. And yet, there’s this enormous expectation that somehow, over this ridiculous stretch of time, we can do BOTH.

This isn’t about discipline or some mythical “work-life balance.” It’s about the fact that a two-month school holiday is an impossible expectation. And just when I see the light at the end of the tunnel and get excited about that first week of school? BAM. A public holiday and a pupil-free day. 😩

Here’s a snap of me taking the kids on a neighbourhood bike ride (Trying to wear them out so I don’t feel guilty letting Netflix do the heavy lifting for the rest of the day).

To all the parents and business owners out there who survived these holidays—cheers to you. We made it. Barely.

I drove 5 hours both on Monday and Tuesday this week for what I affectionately call my "𝐇𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐎𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝" adventure. 👠✨

𝐇𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐎𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 is a part of my property development brand process. It happens before designs get done and messages get formed. It helps direct the brand focus, ensuring we capture the true essence of the location.

You see, property development branding is part art, part science. Sure, we look at owner-occupier ratios, competitor analysis, and distances to amenities. But there’s nothing like going on-site and feeling the place. Close your eyes and imagine people pulling into their driveways, kids’ laughter wafting through the wind, the smell of dinner being cooked.

What's drawing people to the area, and why are they staying? Because while we all like to think we buy from a logical standpoint, the truth is we don't.

✨💃 Oh, What a Night! ✨

Last night's 2024 REB Awards in Sydney was all glitz and glamour.

In the past, I'd doubted my place among the greats. You know, feeling like a big fish in a small pond. Imposter syndrome. All that tricky brain stuff.

But, receiving that thoughtful nomination was the nudge I needed to step out of my comfort zone, and wow, am I grateful for it!

The awards were a wonderful way to celebrate the year's hustle in elevating Real Estate Agencies and Property Developments. 🚀

I've carved out my niche, adding brand brilliance to franchisee and boutique agencies, and giving smaller property developments the spotlight they deserve.

In this big, magnificent industry, there’s room for everyone to shine.✨

A massive shoutout to all the winners—your brilliance lights the way. I’m humbled and thrilled to enjoy this remarkable industry. 🎉

This Valentine's Day, let's talk about love... and branding 💖

Just like in love, demographics—age, education, location—set the stage, but they're just the start. They're kind of one dimensional. Two 25 year old women living in the same city are likely wildly different people!

What keeps a relationship—or a customer—coming back? Shared values and authentic communication. 💑

For your brand and your customer, it's the same dance. Demographics draw them in, but it's the shared values that forge a lasting bond.

🌟 Winning big with small moments 🌟

As December 2023 rolls in, I've taken time this morning to list all my business achievements, filling me with immense joy and confidence. Amidst the reflection, I was interrupted as my daughter burst into my office exclaiming triumphantly - "I have 4 green letters on the 2nd line in Wordle!".

For those unfamiliar, I was in the same boat until Lisa Greensill introduced me earlier this year. It quickly became a household favourite, sparking friendly competitions between my husband and me. A couple of months later, my daughter joined in and, at just 7, quickly showed us she's a natural, often outshining us both!

It's these small, everyday moments that I've come to cherish. (A heartfelt thank you to Wordle for enriching our family life!) Sure, the year had its share of big wins, but this got me thinking that the little moments that consistently shape our existence are incredibly valuable.

Here's to bringing a little bit of fun to each day and recognising that sometimes, the most meaningful victories are the quiet, overlooked ones.

Not some kind of magical, make things appear out of thin air kind of way.

More like, if you get clarity on what you want, align your life, habits and actions, you "magnetise" and draw into existence what you want.

And, on occasion, it happens. One of my goals this year was to become an awards finalist. I thought I would enter 4 different awards to be on the safe side 😂 and as manifesting would have it, I've been named finalist in all 4!

I feel truly honoured to be named a marketing finalist at the REB awards. 🙏 I've loved Real estate ever since I could pinch the listings out of my dads newspaper, so I'm especially chuffed about this one. 😍

Often you get bogged down in day-to-day workload, but its times like this that remind me that all the hustle, determination and hard work is worth it.

What an incredible night! 🎉🥂👗 Friday I stood among fellow finalists at the Women in Finance Awards.

While I didn’t emerge a winner, I had an amazing night 💃 and I met some incredible women.

Women who work hard everyday, focus on what they want, and don’t dim other women’s lights to feel superior. I could feel the comaradory and encouragement in the air and it was magical. ✨

A heartfelt congratulations to all the finalists and the amazing winners of the night! We are in this together and I love that we are clapping for each others success.
