Tonight I was lucky enough to have won a ticket to a Secret SisinBiz Society event and while listening to the fabulous speakers Adam Shepard and Natasha Price ( both multiple medal winning wheelchair athletes) I heard a phrase that I use often and that was ‘when you get an opportunity just say yes, doesn’t matter if you don’t think you can just say yes and work the rest out after’.

Now…I live by this… but I had no idea where it came from or why I knew that phrase. ( turns out its Richard Branson .. or was it Tony Robbins, s**t I’ve forgotten again 🙄) I’ll tell you that philosophy has caused me some anxiety lol but it’s also lead to the things in my life I’m proudest of. Bodybuilding comps, Guinness World Record truck pull even just saying yes to running my own business.. just decide and sort the rest out later.

Funnily enough the last person I ‘just said yes’ to was this fabulous lady Beck from Beam Magazine who I got to hug in person tonight.

2023 is the year to just say yes !!

More and more brands are trending towards a certain look, feel, and attitude – a blandness that makes all logos look the same. This is counterintuitive when it comes to making an impact and leaving a lasting impression on potential customers.

As business owners and brand designers, we intuitively know that being memorable and unique is far more powerful than blending into the background. Creative businesses that want to stand out from the crowd know that differentiation is essential. Yet this trend Carrie’s on regardless

With the sea of options that customers have to choose from in modern times, why aren’t more brands taking the opportunity to swim against the tide?

The rise of generic logos

The trend is marked by a few key characteristics; most of the logos we come across look remarkably similar – often simple and stripped back designs with generic fonts that lack personality – such as sans serif typefaces, minimal, muted colour palettes and no overly intricate detailing. It has become so commonplace that it is often difficult to distinguish one logo from another without taking a closer look. And this can be seen in everything from websites to packaging and business cards.

We understand the lean towards this aesthetic. This look essentially says: “I’m a professional and I can be trusted”. It says, “I’m modern, I’m competent, and I’m easy to understand”.

But unfortunately, it also says “I’m boring. I’m safe. I’m Predictable.” It does not do much in terms of giving your brand a unique edge or personality, which is key to forming a genuine relationship with customers, which increases their lifetime value to the brand.

So will you be taking up this new blanding trend or do you have a little more sass than all that ???

I love creating new little projects and when I found a supplier that printed on blankets, needless to say, I was pretty excited. I love having my pup on a blanket. I get obsessed with things and can't stop until I'm done lol....once I got this done tho I've never done anything else on a blanket etc lol and I had great plans of offering this service to clients. Oh well, I can't do EVERYTHING 😀

What creates strength? Not physical strength but the 'un-f**kwith-able' strength that sets people apart?

No one is really born strong, were not gifted from the gods or anything quite as mystical. The strong have more often than not been thrown into the fire and told to swim...yeah I know you can't swim in a fire but the all too familiar point is that when even the advice you're given in a bad situation is rubbish you have nothing left but to figure out how to save yourself.

Strength is really a set of steps you have learnt, a set of procedures that feel right for you you or just a routine you allow yourself to follow that you know pulls you out of the p**p.

Learning what methods align with you is a key factor in achieving ongoing success. When you find a methodology that flows with you it becomes a natural process, one step after another and all of a sudden the path becomes easy.

Sometimes even the strong need guidance, sometimes we're taking on new ground, sometimes we are just tired of fighting the fire by ourselves and we need to recruit the assistance of a qualified fire fighter lol.

This year is the year to get strong..lets do it together.

With the official start of work / end of the holidays happening tomorrow I woke this morning and I had definitely lost some ‘muchiness’.
The holiday season has been hectic and I honestly feel like I could just stay in bed for a few more days…. Flat, totally flat
But I’ve promised myself I will be much muchier this year, the most me I can be.
( is this where I start to turn into the outspoken old eccentric lady ? With 20 cats or for me 20 dogs and goats )
So today I baby’d myself a little and had a slow morning but then I took the vitamins and waited for the brilliance to kick in lol ( can’t say it was miraculous but some energy finally seemed to kick in..could have been the coffee, guess we’ll never know)
So this year I vowed to be much muchier oh and also to grow massive muscly legs ( legs has been my goal for about 6 years now but thus far has illuded me but I’m a glass half full type so I keep the dream alive)
So look out world I may do some unusual things this year, stretch the boundaries a little, I certainly hope so

I wish success was LINEAR, an upward-sloping line that looked as predictable as a Kardashian crying in an episode of their reality show.

That predictable.

But–instead–success feels like untangling a ball of yarn. With one hand. Wearing a mitten.

Whatttttt? Don’t deny it.

(I can’t be the only one-handed entrepreneur wearing a mitten every day.)

No, really, please tell me we can high-five with our mittened hands. Ready? GO.

So why am I really sending you this note? To remind you (and me) that success isn’t linear. It’s a series of ups, downs, spheres, revolutions, and oh, hey, let’s throw in a figure-8 infinity sign for good measure.

Essentially, our path to success is erratic and unpredictable. But our goal is simply to keep moving forward.

We’re supposed to untangle the yarn one string at a time.

So here’s to us… and our mittens. May we remain undaunted and determined.

Sometimes it’s easy to overlook what your niche or talent actually is. After working as a designer for other people I was pondering what business I would start and I considered many things then I realised ‘oh …. Right, I’m already doing it just not for myself’ and there was the beginning
