FRIDAY DO’S + DON’TS — Small Business Branding
Your branding isn’t just your logo.
It’s your colours, fonts, photos, graphics, wording, tone of voice and the overall feel people get when they come across your business.
And no — everything doesn’t need to look exactly the same.
The goal is to make it feel consistent and recognisable, without every single post looking like a copy and paste of the last one.
A few things to think about:
Choose a colour palette and stick with it
Keep your fonts consistent
Use good-quality photos that suit your business
Think about what will appeal to your ideal customers
Develop a style that people start to recognise as yours
Create some simple brand guidelines so you know what to use
And most importantly — don’t copy another business just because you like their branding.
Take inspiration, absolutely! But your brand should actually reflect your business, your personality and the customers you want to attract.
You also don't need a huge fancy brand guide to get started. Even having your main colours, fonts, logo variations, photography style and a few basic guidelines written down can make creating websites, socials and marketing materials soooo much easier.
If your branding currently feels like a bit of everything, I can help pull it together with brand boards, colour palettes, fonts, digital design, social media templates and overall online presence. 🤎
See you next Friday for another Do's & Donts.
