Sitemax Family Open Day 2026

Yesterday, the Sitemax team at our Gympie HQ came together for an afternoon of lawn bowls, while our Sydney team enjoyed Strike Bowling and a well-earned break from the day-to-day.

Afterwards, we opened our doors to the families and friends who support our team behind the scenes, giving them a chance to see where we work, meet the people we work alongside, and learn more about what we do each day.

With the pizza oven fired up, cold beers on tap, and plenty of good conversation, it was a fantastic evening spent connecting with the people who make our team possible.

As Sitemax continues to grow, we're welcoming more new legends into the business. Events like this are a great reminder that while our products and projects are important, it's our people who truly make Sitemax what it is.

We're incredibly grateful for our team and the families who support them. Thank you for being part of the journey.

Construction hoardings don’t have to disappear into the background

At Waterfront Brisbane, the project team took a different approach.

Working with Dexus, the hoarding was designed to tell a story.

Reflecting the past, present and future of the site through references to the Brisbane River, local wildlife, and cultural history.

Sitemax was engaged to print and install the vinyl banner graphics across the A-Class hoardings surrounding this iconic project.

Installed using sail track framing and finished with a matte anti-graffiti coating, the result is a clean, controlled perimeter that adds colour, meaning, and presence to one of Brisbane’s most prominent riverfront locations.

Because when a project is this visible, presentation isn’t a detail — it’s part of the development.

🏗️ Building in the City of Sydney?

Your hoarding might need approval for more than structure and safety.

In many locations, hoardings need to be more than compliant - they need to be creative, which means:

🎨 Artwork instead of advertising.
📐 Strict layout rules.
🚫 Limited branding.
✅ Specific approval pathways.
➡️ And a process that can feel overwhelming.

Requirements for the creative hoardings program often catches teams off guard. Your hoarding is being organised, then suddenly there are artwork options, historic imagery, compliance panels, submissions, revisions and install deadlines to work through.

The trick is - plan ahead.

We've pulled together a practical guide for builders that breaks down how the City of Sydney Creative Hoardings Program actually works, including what council expects, where projects usually get stuck, and how to navigate it without slowing down your build.

If you're planning a project in the City of Sydney, this is worth a read.

Your hoarding is often the first chapter of your project’s brand story.

Before the display suite opens
Before the renders go live
Before buyers step inside

People see the hoarding.

Hoardings do more than secure a site, they introduce the project to the street.

The imagery, messaging and design set the tone for what’s coming and help shape how the development is perceived from day one.

For project marketers, that perimeter becomes one of the largest brand assets on site.

Which is why getting it right, and keeping it looking right, matters.

Right now, we’re offering 70% off anti-graffiti coating, giving projects an easy way to protect their branding from vandalism and keep hoardings looking the way they were designed to.

Secure the offer while it’s available.

Your branding looks great… until someone adds their own.

You can spend months crafting the right brand story for a project.

The logo, the colours, the messaging, the renders — every detail carefully designed to communicate quality and confidence to the market.

Then one night, a spray can rewrites the story.

For project marketers, vandalised hoardings aren’t just a maintenance issue — they’re a brand equity issue.

Graffiti interrupts the visual message you’ve worked hard to build and shifts how people perceive the project.

Anti-graffiti coating acts as a protective layer over hoarding artwork, helping graffiti be cleaned off quickly and keeping the brand presentation intact.

Because when your hoarding is part of the marketing campaign, protecting it isn’t just site maintenance. It’s brand protection.

How can you tell that a development is professionally managed?

Often it’s the way a site presents itself to the street that shapes those impressions.

Clean hoardings.
Consistent branding.
Controlled presentation.

These signals communicate that a project is organised, well managed, and intentional. Building buyer confidence and brand reputation.

This is exactly the reason why more developers are treating anti-graffiti protection as a project standard, not a builder add-on.

Keep your development looking professional from concept through to handover.

At what point does the public begin forming an opinion about a development?

Many would say when the building is complete.

However for most projects, that perception begins much earlier.

Long before the structure rises, the hoarding becomes the visible edge of the project.

It carries the architectural vision.
The branding.
The promise of what is being built behind it.

For months — sometimes years — it becomes the project’s public presence.

And during that time, the presentation of the site inevitably becomes part of the project narrative.

When graffiti appears across that frontage, the message can quickly shift.

Anti-graffiti coating allows that presentation to remain intentional and controlled throughout construction. Because thoughtful developments consider not only how a project finishes, but how it presents along the way.

For developers planning future projects, it raises an interesting question:

Should construction presentation be treated as a temporary detail…
or as part of the development standard from the beginning?

Graffiti never shows up when it’s convenient.

It’s after hours.
Over a weekend.
Right before a stakeholder walk-through.

What looks like a quick clean can quickly turn into a full replacement…
Reprint. Freight. Install. Downtime.

In our latest article, we break down what graffiti really costs on a live project — and why prevention changes everything.

Because when your hoarding is part of the marketing, protecting it isn’t just maintenance… it’s brand protection.
