You might’ve noticed we’ve quietly launched HeyDays Studio — a sister studio to Smyth in 2026.

Same creative team, same values — just a different lane. Smyth is continuing to focus on larger government, corporate and First Nations projects, while HeyDays is where we’re putting our creative energy into small business branding, websites, content and workshops.

We’re incredibly proud of the journey Smyth has taken over the last five years, and we’re so grateful to everyone who’s followed along. But if you’re a small business owner, side-hustler, or just love practical creative advice without the fluff, HeyDays is for you.

We’re only just getting started over there, so if you’d like to follow along (and be one of the OG followers 😄), we’d love to have you.

'Culture in motion'

We’re thrilled to be part of this year’s Indigenous Round — a chance to share story, culture, and creativity in one of the most unexpected and powerful ways: through race cars hurtling around the track at over 300km/h.

For us, this isn’t just about design — it’s about storytelling in motion, with culture, connection, and country leading the way.

From concept to completion, Smyth Studio is proud to have worked closely with artist Jedess Hudson and the Erebus team to deliver two powerful livery designs that honour different stories while standing strong together on the track.

Jack Le Brocq’s #9 car, “Power Through Connection,” features original artwork and full livery design by Jay Hobbs (Smyth Studio). The piece represents the invisible threads that bind us — between people, place, and purpose — and how those threads carry us forward.

Cooper Murray’s #99 car, “Fuelled by Fire,” is based on original artwork by Jedess Hudson, with supporting artwork and visual cohesion by Smyth Studio to align both cars under a shared visual narrative.

These aren’t just race cars — they’re fast-moving canvases carrying culture at speed. And on a day like today, this moment is about more than competition. It’s about visibility. Pride. And legacy.

Massive thanks to Erebus Motorsport and V8 Supercars for making space for these stories on the national stage.

Artist Collaboration: Jedess Hudson & Jay Hobbs

How we helped:
Illustrations | Indigenous Art Elements | Document Design

Smyth Studio collaborated with Queensland Health – Cairns & Hinterland Hospital and Health Services, alongside Indigenous artist Jedess Hudson, to create the Having a Baby booklet—a 40-page guide through pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care for new mothers.

The visual storytelling throughout the booklet was born from a creative partnership between Jedess and Jay Hobbs, blending original Indigenous art by Jedess with complementary elements and design by Smyth Studio. The result is a resource that ensures essential health information is not only accessible but also culturally safe and resonant for First Nations families.

Now an integral part of patient care at Cairns Hospital, the booklet supports new mothers with clarity, culture, and connection.
