story begins far from Melbourne — in Antarctica. Unlike most penguins, Atta and his little one, Kai, always dreamed of somewhere warmer and sunnier. So one day, they simply followed that feeling and swam north, all the way to Melbourne — a city known for its friendly people, easy vibe and just-right sunshine.

The moment they arrived, they knew: “This is home.”

To share that warm feeling with everyone, they opened a small sandwich shop called Attakai — inspired by the Japanese word「あったかい」meaning “warm and cozy.”

Now their journey officially begins in Melbourne. First store soft-opens today at 260 Collins St, with a second location coming soon near the University of Melbourne. Stay tuned!
