A new pair of giant pandas have been offered to Adelaide Zoo in a swap for the popular duo who have called the zoo home for the past 15 years. Chinese Premier Li Qiang made the announcement at the zoo this morning, thanking South Australia for looking after Wang Wang and Fu Ni so well. "We will provide a new pair of equally beautiful, lovely and adorable pandas to the Adelaide Zoo". I'm sure they will be loved and taken good care of by the people of Adelaide, South Australia, and Australia." Zoos SA chief executive said visitation increased by 150,000 people in the first year of the panda's arrival, and the pair had continued to remain one of the most popular parts of the zoo 15 years on. Hydra is surrounded by the clearest water you will ever swim in. There are no sandy beaches, instead it’s a place of pine-scented coves, warm creviced rocks and crystal water where jewel-coloured pebbles shine up at you even when you are well out of your depth. On Hydra, the cockerels crow all through the night. The morning has many bells. Though the island is only 10 miles long and most of it is uninhabitable, there are more than 300 churches, most with bells, none of them beautifully rung. After a while you learn to sleep through it. What do you think LiveTribers? Would you ever visit Hydra, the Greek Island for dreamers? Have your say: https://bit.ly/3z73NWAhyd

A “gamechanger” immunotherapy drug that “melts away” tumours dramatically increases the chances of curing bowel cancer and may even replace the need for surgery, doctors have said. The drug ‘Pembrolizumab’ targets and blocks a specific protein on the surface of immune cells that then seek out and destroy cancer cells. Giving the drug before surgery instead of chemotherapy led to a huge increase in patients being declared cancer-free, a clinical trial found. The results were presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the world’s largest cancer conference. What do you think LiveTribers? How may immunotherapy replace the need for surgery in the future? Have your say: https://bit.ly/4bZhju2Imm

Gardening is a healthy and fulfilling hobby for many Australians. But like many activities in our day-to-day lives, there is some risk involved, particularly when it comes to using potting mix and compost which can contain legionella bacteria which cause legionnaire’s disease, a potentially deadly form of pneumonia. These products are also breeding grounds for fungi. Fungal spores are all around us. We inhale them every day and our immune system in our lungs just eliminates them. But if you have a compromised immune system, (the spores) can lead to a problem. People with diabetes have a slightly increased risk of infection because these fungi prefer hosts with high blood sugar. In most cases, infections are caused by breathing in fungal spores. However, you can also become infected through a gardening injury. What are your thoughts LiveTribers? Who is at risk of fungal infections while gardening? Have your say: https://bit.ly/4eaCA5tgard

Children's social media usage is again in the spotlight, with the SA government announcing a proposal to ban children under 14 from accessing sites such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook and requiring those aged 14 and 15 to have parental consent to use the apps. But with two-thirds of primary-school-aged children and most teenagers owning their own mobile screen devices, is banning, or restricting your child's access to social media the answer and is it a workable solution? What are your thoughts LiveTribers? How should you approach your children’s and teenagers’ social media use? Have your say: https://bit.ly/450OwClsoc

Nitrous oxide is known as "laughing gas", but with health effects ranging from severe nerve damage to death, its abuse is no joke. The National Drug Strategy Household survey suggests about six per cent (600,000) of the Australian population have used inhalants, about half of which are believed to be nitrous oxide. Health professionals are increasingly concerned about the ease of access as it can be purchased without verification of age and delivered in under an hour, 24 hours a day. What are your thoughts LiveTribers? How is nitrous oxide misuse impacting the health of Australians? Have your say: https://bit.ly/4bL7zmxNit

For some, the sensation feels like fireworks exploding out of their brain into the night sky. For others, there’s a kind of buzz, electricity, or vibration. Goosebumps cover their whole body. "A bit like a warm hug." A moment of "collective happiness", "clarity", and feeling totally grounded. Entering some kind of "flow state". This is what it's like to sing in harmony as part of a community choir. Humans have come together in song for tens of thousands of years. Through ancient song lines and sacred hymns, in times of celebration and in grief. What are your thoughts LiveTribers? How can singing in a choir help our brains and bodies from burnout? If it feels like the world is in turmoil now, that's because it is. Fear and anger abound in our politics, in our social discourse, and in our expectations for the future. The finger of blame can be pointed at the usual suspects: Dictators, populists, malcontents, and online trolls. Social researchers warn that fear and anger have been monetised, the result of deliberate manipulation by commercial and political interests. What are your thoughts LiveTribers? Is fear and anger dominating our world right now? Have your say: https://bit.ly/3JPCfHf

It's an elegant silk robe decorated with intricate stitching of pink flowers and is a significant piece of Tasmanian fashion history. But the stunning 250-year-old dress known as a mantua was once considered to be a "form of undress", and not suitable to be worn on the streets. What's interesting about the mantua from a historical fashion perspective is it was quite a radical dress for women at the time. What do you think LiveTribers? Why is Tasmania’s oldest dress a fashion masterpiece? Have your say: https://bit.ly/3QoAlkO

It's claimed a wombat can run faster than any human over a distance of 100 metres. Now, an exhaustive ABC investigation has tracked down the truth of the 40kph sprinting wombat myth. Did you ever hear the animal "fact" that a wombat could beat the world's fastest human, Usain Bolt, in a footrace? Bolt's world record 100-metre run was completed in 9.58 seconds at an average speed of 37.58 kilometres per hour. And while Bolt briefly hit just under 44 kph in his best run, a wombat, so we've been told, could outpace the Jamaican great at 40 kph over the same distance for a nine-second run. What are your thoughts LiveTribers? How fast can wombats run? Have your say: https://bit.ly/49JmnRjwom

Each week about 50 postal workers are victims of dog-related incidents. But worked-up dogs are a problem for families too, with some redirecting their aggression in the home. When dogs react to the presence of a postman or courier by barking, growling, and lunging, that is called fear-based aggression. That can be for several reasons including them being unfamiliar people, wearing high-vis, and travelling on motorbikes, things that add to the fear and anxiety because of how they look and sound. What are your thoughts LiveTribers? Why does your dog hate the postie? Have your say: https://bit.ly/3xCp6Pbpos

Our ancestors left Africa some 70,000 years ago, but it took them thousands of years to make it to Europe or Asia. A study suggests that the first humans out of Africa stopped at Persian Plateau on the way to Eurasia and hidden clues can be found in our genes with what happened next. By looking at ancient and modern DNA, the study has pinpointed an area surrounding modern day Iran as an important "hub" for humans who departed Africa tens of thousands of years ago. What are your thoughts LiveTribers? Where did our ancestors go after leaving Africa? Have your say: https://bit.ly/4aFncevanc
