Motorbike sellers beware… If you advertise a motorbike for sale and someone asks to take it for a test drive before purchasing - always meet in a public place (never at your home address) and never let anyone take your bike without legitimate proof of identity.

In recent weeks several motorbikes have been stolen by offender/s messaging using a fake social media profile, taking the bike for a test ride, and never returning. A couple of bikes have been recovered but a few remain outstanding.

While most people using online buy and sell sites are legitimate, some are not. Be wary and keep your bike safe.

Do you see people using their mobile phones while driving? 🤔🚗

21 people were caught using their mobile phones while driving in Hobart's CBD in just two hours this morning.

Tasmania Police say using a mobile phone while stationary at traffic lights is an offence, with each driver fined $346 and three demerit points.

The infringements were handed out as part of a two-hour blitz, involving officers in uniform and plain clothes.
