It’s time for a big change in life for me! ✨

Thanks so much to all the wonderful people I had the pleasure of working with over the last 12 plus years. You know who you are. A special thanks to those I worked alongside who supported me along the way (particularly Shez of Peabody Digital who was a huge part of this adventure but many more along the way Jess, Sean, Erin, Jo).

Salt Brands & Marketing was a constant in my life when I needed it most. It anchored me and gave me purpose and I’m proud of the work I did and of the energy and effort I put into my work. It was a privilege to be able to work with all the wonderful people I did and to create and educate.

My last meeting was with one of my favourite clients of all time - if you haven’t heard of them make sure you check them out particularly if you’re a parent. Really powerful important work in the emotional development and health and wellbeing space. Magic stuff! They said at some point I inspired them and that is the greatest feedback I could hope for and what I hoped for in every interaction I had with my clients. I didn’t always get it right because I’m human like everyone else. But the lessons and connections made I’ll cherish forever.

So deeply grateful for my home office.

Looking out at the Derwent River makes me feel at peace.

Even when the weeks are dotted with all the chaos parenting three beautiful children brings with it.

Hugely grateful for my office. 👩‍💻💡⚡️And the view of the water is so calming it helps my creative flow.

Working 100% virtually allows me to cut down on travel time and operate from my peaceful home office sanctuary. I upgraded my tech and office equipment last year. It was time to invest in the business. I scored a great grant via Business Tasmania (thank you!) which has helped me set up my space to work perfectly for my neurodiverse sparky brain.

You can see the teeny desk I was using and my old laptop was whirring under the strain before I upgraded. Now I’ve got a tablet to appease my tactile need to write with a pen, a to move my feet under my desk to promote focus, a sit stand desk and a touch screen third monitor.

I shape my business year on year intentionally to make sure I’m able to focus on family commitments and self care. As a burnout survivor, health remains my number one priority.

It’s mental health awareness month. And as a lived experience mental health advocate I encourage my clients to encourage a healthy work life balance for themselves and their wider teams. The right environment and equipment helps. Plants are a must! 🪴

A bucket list item for me this year was to see “The Turning of the Fagus”. A Tasmanian walkers rite of passage in a sense to see this botanical beauty turn from green to orange to red. A stunning display and the ANZAC long weekend is a good bet in terms of timing. So lucky to live in this beautiful state and this wonderful country of ours.

Out in nature is where I feel most at peace. I love the sounds, smells, sights. Even the feeling of air at high altitude. Bliss.

As usual this time of the year it's crazy stations up in this business. 🤪🎄 Hyperfocus mode with full on psychedelic trance in my ears is helping me play catch up. 🎧

I'm loving all the clients and projects I'm working on of late. So many talented, hard working humans giving it their all and putting their energy into building something for themselves and the world. Honestly, my clients inspire me daily.

Running a small business is a rollercoaster 🎢 ride. But the moments like this make it all worthwhile. This one was taken at White Beach on our October holiday mini adventure. We take the caravan away when we can and get into nature to all explore and spend time together.

I don’t know about any of you other family run small businesses but how hectic is the school holiday juggle? Feel like we are only just getting past it now there are Summer holidays to contend with. I’m so grateful for the fact I do have choices and options as a business owner but my ADHD brain glitches over and over about what “the best” balance is for business and family during school breaks.

I went and got myself overnight abs. Magic. ✨🎩💪 Then I became an astronaut. Thanks to 🤖 A.I

I love researching new technology for small businesses to see just how useful (if at all) and accessible and affordable they are. Here's a set of A.I. photos of me. I've picked some that are quite on the money but there were some glitches and also some WAYYY off the mark. If you want to have a play around I used Lensa App. I've been using Chat GPT 4.O to generate some imagery too and it's still a bit clunky but the better you get with prompts, the better the results at the moment.

There are some good options out there for professional headshots emerging and soon I think we will be able to get away with some imagery generated which accurately reflects our business offering for website images. etc. I firmly believe though, that every small business should have a professional photo shoot every few years. There is no replacement for real and authentic photos taken by a professional!

This is how I feel after having to use the track pad all day instead of my gaming mouse. 🫨 First world problem, but still hurts. I have back up mice. Just no batteries and the battery charger takes ages. Guess life must be good if this is worth complaining about on social media.
