Consider the fact that Graphics are a lot like Music: And there are two types of practitioners:

Some acts have a support crew of dozens, pumping out slick and stream-lined electronically-produced stuff with all the cutting-edge of a nerf-ball, employing light-shows and dancers to distract you from the actual message. Catering for the masses and indiscernible from the next act, driven by sales and

adulation, with no intellectual depth beyond the superficial - with barely any evidence of the actual craft of music on-show, yet in reality, doing not much for a lot of money. THEN you have the very, very devoted driven few: found hard-at-it at 1am plying their craft with meaning and purpose to a smaller (but equally ardent) audience, raising a sweat on their brow and raising calluses from their strings - working around and within with the original roots and foundations of their artform, creating work that contains a natural, rounded human tone. Well Rockerfella Industries are the design equivalent of those people.

Not quite final, but I am super happy with how this baby has come together. Every year we just dial these angles up a few notches. When I design a t-shirt I just ask myself one simple question: would I wear that. And in this case, I think I’d live in it.

And I have always had the idea of putting a wave and/or surfer in a quiff- in the back of my mind for decades. Finally got the chance!

I rarely go back and publish work that I did under contract with other design groups (actually this might be a first?!), unless the concept was art directed by yours-truly.

This has certainly been adjusted over time, possibly for the better! But this was the original logo for the metropolitan hotel on George and Bridge Streets in Sydney.

It was created in 1993 or 94 for Karina Wood design in McMahons Point Sydney.
