On Instagram, images featuring blue as the dominant color generate 24% more Likes than images that are predominantly red.

Yes, we love blue! 💙

It is the world's favourite colour and there are many theories around why that is. One theory is that blue evokes memories of mostly happy things, eg aquamarine ocean, clear skies.

Blue also has a calming affect. A research group in Leeds, England found "a small effect of colored light on heart rate and blood pressure: Red light does seem to raise heart rate, while blue light lowers it."

With all this going for the colour blue, you might want to try using more of it in your business imaging.

This is an easy one - include photos on Instagram that show faces to improve your engagement.

This doesn't mean you should stop posting all other photos but, if you're promoting a product, it may get better engagement showing a customer or influencer using the product, rather than just showing the product itself.

Struggling with the whole Facebook Pixel thingy?😕🤷

The Facebook Pixel is a piece of code that allows you to track how people behave on your website. The data from that activity is sent to Facebook and helps you to personalise ads and can be used to retarget website visitors.

Retargeting campaigns are highly effective 💯💯

Why? If someone in your target market has taken the time to visit your website, they have clearly demonstrated interest in your products, services or content.

Advertising to these people is easier and generates a much better return on investment.

So...get that Facebook Pixel thingy going pronto! ✅

Yes, this rollout which started in October last year in the U.S. is finally starting to appear in Australia.

This enables you to upload photos and images from your desktop straight to your Instagram feed. Something that a lot of us digi-geeks 🤓 feel has been a long time coming.
