5 years in business ✨

Looking back at every version of my website over the last 5 years feels a little surreal. Every redesign reflected a different stage of growth, not just in the business, but in me too.

Year 1 Website
Everything was DIY.
I wrote my own website copy, took my own photos in the backyard, designed my branding myself and built the website from scratch. I was learning as I went and simply focused on getting something live so I could start building my portfolio and putting myself out there.

At the time, it was not about perfection, it was about starting and getting the business live.

Year 2 Website
This was the stage where I started refining everything.

By this point I was working full time in the business and had a much clearer understanding of the type of clients I wanted to work with and the direction I wanted the business to head.

I updated the website to better showcase my projects, refined my service offerings and improved the overall messaging and structure of the site.

I also started investing more seriously into the business through marketing strategy, professional copywriting and brand photography.

This was when I ensured my website was about my business positioning, showcasing clarity and building trust.

Year 5 Website
This version feels the most aligned yet and the one I am most proud of!

Over the years the business has grown significantly and the website needed to grow with it. I had stronger projects, clearer processes and a much deeper understanding of the experience I wanted clients to have when interacting with my business.

This version refined everything I had built over the years and finally feels like a true reflection of the business behind the scenes.

One of the biggest things I have learnt is that businesses evolve faster than most websites do.

Now, you definitely do not need to redesign your website 3 times in 5 years πŸ˜…I am a website designer after all!

5 years later and I still feel like I’m learning every day, but I’m incredibly grateful for every client, every project and every stage that got me here πŸ’š

I would love to hear how your business has changed and evolved over the years too!

If I was reviewing your website today, these are the first simple things I’d look at.

Not the design first, but how clearly it’s actually working for you.

πŸ‘‰ Is it obvious what you do and who it’s for?
πŸ‘‰ Is it guiding people on what to do next?
πŸ‘‰ Is it easy to follow, especially on mobile?

Because a website can have great branding, but still not really be doing its job.

Most of the time, it’s not one big issue. It’s a few small things that, when combined,
start to affect how your website performs.

That’s usually where I first start when reviewing a site.

If you want me to take a proper look at yours, comment β€œAUDIT” and I’ll send you the details of my Website Clarity Review.

After completing the branding for Sprinkle Events, we carried that transformation through into a custom website redesign and hire system that better reflects the level their business has grown into πŸ™Œ

The goal was not simply to create their new hire system, but to create a website that supports how the business works today, and where it is headed.

Strategy informed every step, from planning a scalable site structure and organising product categories for long term growth, to designing a smoother quote and booking journey that feels simple for customers to use.

The result is a website that not only feels far more aligned with the personality and professionalism of the brand, but also works harder behind the scenes to support enquiries, browsing and bookings.

If your website feels like it has been outgrown, feel free to send me a DM πŸ’š

A slow website can affect more than user experience, it can affect conversions too.

If people are waiting for pages to load, especially on mobile, they may leave before they even engage with what you offer 😬

Here is a few simple ways to check your site speed and some quick wins that may help improve it πŸ™Œ

Sometimes small changes, like image optimisation or reducing what loads above the fold (before you scroll), can make a bigger difference than people realise.

Save this for your next website review.

And if you’d like another pair of eyes on your website, I offer a Website Conversion Review where we can look at what may be affecting performance and conversions. DM me to find out more.

I don't believe in just creating a better looking website or brand. (but you will absolutely get one!)
I believe it is all about having one that actually communicates your value and builds trust from the first impression πŸ’š

That’s why my approach is always grounded in strategy first. So every decision has a purpose and actually supports how your business grows.

If your brand or website isn’t working the way it should (or you don't have them yet), I’ve shared a few ways we can work together.

Download the Studio & Pricing Guide via the link or DM me β€œGUIDE” and I’ll send it through.

Sprinkle Events came to me at a point where their brand just was not matching the level of business they had built. 🩷

As a hire and setup company, they are not just supplying items, they are the ones bringing the party to life. What they offered was vibrant, creative and experience driven. What their brand showed felt generic and a bit too corporate.

We took the idea of the balloon string and reimagined it as a flowing, multicoloured line that moves throughout the brand. It became a subtle but distinctive thread, symbolising movement, celebration and connection, much like the way their setups transform a space.🎈

This was paired with a curated colour palette and rounded, fluid design elements to create something that feels playful, modern and considered, without losing that sense of trust and professionalism.

The result was a refreshed identity that feels more aligned, more recognisable, and far more reflective of the experience they deliver. ✨

Do you actually like sending people to your website? πŸ˜… Or do you hesitate, feel a bit embarrassed, over explain, or feel like you need to 'fill in the gaps' on a call?

I see this all the time, business owners who are great at what they do, but their website has not kept up with them.

As your business grows, your website can get left behind, and that is where you start to loose those enquires and sales. People are forming an opinion in under a second, and around 75% are judging your credibility based on your website alone! So if it feels unclear or outdated, they are already making decisions before you even speak to them.

This is usually a sign something is not aligned on your website. Not your ability or your services but how clearly your website is communicating your value.

If this sounds like you, I have something that will help πŸ’š Comment CONVERT and I will send you my Website Conversion Checklist.

Your website should be your hardest working employee, because you would not hire someone to represent your business if they could not clearly explain what you do, what you offer, or why someone should choose you.

This was exactly where Tania had outgrown her website.

Her previous site felt confusing to navigate, it did not clearly explain her services, and it did not reflect the calm, grounded experience she offers her clients. It also was not well optimised across different devices, which made the experience harder to use.

Which meant potential clients were landing on the site without clarity and without a clear path forward.

The goal was to create a website that felt simple, welcoming and easy to use, while clearly guiding visitors towards booking a session.

We refined the structure to make her services easy to understand, introduced clear pathways to book, and created space for her personality to come through in a way that feels natural and aligned. This was supported by professional copywriting to ensure the messaging felt clear, considered and easy for her audience to connect with.

So we looked at what the website actually needed to do to support the business, not just how it looked.

This included:
πŸ‘‰ Clearer structure so visitors can quickly understand what she offers
πŸ‘‰ Simplified navigation to remove confusion and guide users through the site
πŸ‘‰ Stronger service pages that explain her work and how sessions operate
πŸ‘‰ Integrated booking, workshops and events to support growth
πŸ‘‰ A responsive experience across all devices
πŸ‘‰ A design that reflects her personality and creates a sense of calm and trust

And this is what it looks like when your website finally matches the level of your business!

Swipe to see the transformation πŸ‘‰

If your website is not keeping up with your business anymore, there is usually a reason πŸ’š

There is something I say to clients all the time that can feel a little uncomfortable at first.

Sometimes the website you built when you were starting out just does not fit your business anymore.

And it is not because you got it wrong, it is because your business has grown πŸ™Œ

When you first started, you made decisions based on where you were at in that moment (we all do!). You used templates, pieced things together, and did what you could to get something live. And that version of your website did its job.

But over time, things change (which is a good thing!)
πŸ‘‰the clients you are working with are different
πŸ‘‰the level you are operating at has changed
πŸ‘‰the way you talk about your work has become clearer

And your website can stay stuck in that earlier version of your business.

That is usually when you start to notice it. You hesitate or are embarassed before sending your link. You find yourself over explaining. You feel like your website is not quite backing you up.

Rebuilding your website is not going backwards, it is simply bringing your online presence back into alignment with where you are now πŸ’š

And this is exactly where I come in πŸ‘‹

I help you take what your business has grown into and translate that into a website that actually reflects it, supports it, and feels like something you are proud to share.

Because your website should not feel like something you avoid, it should feel like something that works for you, while your sleeping!

If you want to talk about how we can fix your website, send me a DM or book a call via my website.

As a website designer I am always working on my clients websites and kept putting off redesigning my own πŸ˜… I realised at the end of last year not only had my business evolved, but I had completely outgrown my website.

Coming up to five years in business, so much had changed. The types of clients I work with, the level I operate at, the way I deliver my services, and even how I communicate what I do.

I found myself being hestitant to send people to my own website (not ideal as a web designer!) It didn't reflect where my business was today.

My website is custom built on WordPress which is what I use for many of my clients sites as well. I didn't need to move platforms I was able to recompletly start from scratch and redesign, restructure and create a whole new site all within the same platform. Because a website should be something that grows with you.

If your business evolves or you feel hestitation or embarrassment sending people to your website, this is usually the big sign that your site needs to change.

With over 13 years experience now designing and building strategic websites, I have seen this happen way to often.

Hear are some quick signs that you may be in the same position:
πŸ‘‰ You avoid sending people to your site (biggest giveaway!)
πŸ‘‰ Your offers have changed but your website has not
πŸ‘‰ You find yourself over explaining things that should already be clear on your site
πŸ‘‰ Your branding feels inconsistent or outdated (you might need a rebranding first)
πŸ‘‰ Your website just does not feel like you anymore

If this sounds like you, I can relate πŸ’š
