It took a lot of suggestions and discussions with my nearest and dearest to come up with ‘Iris Media’. So, why Iris? There are a few meaningful reasons why I settled on Iris. Firstly, Iris was the goddess associated with communication, messages and new endeavours, which just seemed to fit this little venture perfectly. On top of this, an Iris is February’s birth flower (I’m a February baby), which was a coincidence hard to ignore. And last but not least, when I first googled the word “Iris” it came up with a description of the flower, and its colour being ‘violet’, which was the name of my beloved cat who has now passed. I took these all as signs that Iris Media was the meaningful name I had been searching for 🤍

What is crisis communication? Crisis Comms is all about mending a company’s or individual’s reputation in the eyes of the public. Any crisis, scandal or disaster is handled swiftly by a PR team. Every good PR team have crisis communication plans ready to go at a moment’s notice! These are generally focused on overcoming difficult situations in the quickest and most efficient way possible, while ensuring any relationships with stakeholders remain unscathed. The approach varies depending on the type of crisis; are they a victim? Was the crisis accidental? Preventable? These questions are all considered when deciding on the strategy. Rebuild, diminish, deny or bolster, what’s it going to be? Chat to Iris Media to find out more!

A question I get all the time! In short, Public Relations (PR) is all about generating publicity for a business, event or individual. This can be done through media exposure and coverage with features in newspapers, magazines, blogs or websites (social media is a pretty handy tool, too!). A simple but very effective example would be the faithful PR package. If a business is launching a new product, their PR team will often put together a package of items relevant to the product launch and send it out to people with a platform (a.k.a influencers), who will post it on their socials for a price (which is also negotiated by a PR team). Public Relations offers so many exciting opportunities to grow your brand, and Iris Media can help with them all 🤍
