7.00AM TUESDAY, 11 MARCH 2025

Council crews will commence hosing down of silt and mud of footpaths and roads in Laidley CBD as soon as they’re able to.

Where accessible and safe to do so, crews will be out and about across the region clearing kerbs and gutters and removing flood debris.

More than 100 roads and numerous bridges remain closed across the region, and we will inspect each one once floodwaters subside to ensure they are safe.

Council crews will also remove ROAD CLOSED signs and barriers following inspections.

We thank the community for its patience as we begin this clean-up and recovery phase.

🌻 Special Edition Gilly’s Line Dancing Shirt 🌻

As some of you may or may not be aware, I lost my Mumma to cancer nearly 4yrs ago. Since then I have taken part of the Kalbar Sunflower Festival in various ways which helps raise much needed funds for cancer care, nurses or equipment (like the cuddle bed which we all raised $455 for at the H***y Tonk event in January!). If you’ve ever been to the Kalbar Sunflower Festival and saw the giant numbers … there’s a lil story there! 🌻

So this year, Classic Print N Sign have helped design a limited edition Gilly’s shirt!

Profits from the sales are going directly to one of our own Gilly’s crew member (due to privacy - I won’t share who this is) who has just had someone very close to them diagnosed with cancer…

So my hopes are with these funds, this Gilly’s crew member can do something special with that person or purchase anything that is needed.

Shirts can be pre ordered now and they will be delivered at the end of April just before the Kalbar Sunflower Festival (which we will be line dancing at again this year!!). We hope the shirts will also spark conversations about the amazing work Jenny does at the sunflower farm, she’s is a local hero and inspiration to so many! And also remind us all the cancer sucks and has impacted so many people … continue to stand tall, be kind and shine!
