A bit of exciting news!! Hopefully the power doesn’t go out like my last night!!!
And I can assure you, despite some of the comments on the Pulse post, I am definitely not interested in a political career!!!

Rachel Williams will return to Tassie screens tonight, nearly six years after leaving her weekend news role at Seven Tasmania.

The veteran journalist, who started her media career in 2000, left her weekend news presenter role in 2020 to focus on her young family and pursue new challenges.

Since then, she has launched her own media business and become editor of the North Eastern Advertiser after buying the paper when it faced closure.

Williams says she has stepped in to work casual weekend shifts when needed alongside the Seven Tasmania team, saying she is “a bit nervous” but excited to be back.

"I love being able to deliver the news. I'm hoping I can still use the teleprompter," she told Pulse.

What a sensational young woman is. From humble beginnings in Launceston she returned to her home town today to pass on some insights and inspiration to a new crop of swimmers with dreams of Olympic destiny. It was a pleasure to facilitate this activation for and rebel in the very trendy new store in and give Arnie a big hug - seems like only yesterday a bright-eyed reporter recorded the hopes and dreams of our sensational swim star!

What a lovely honour it was to be asked to take part in National Simultaneous Storytime at Scottsdale Library today. A divine book by Aura Parker, Bowerbird Blues was a delight to read to about 90 attendees at the session. It was secretly my chance to live out a childhood dream of being a Play School presenter!
