Behind the scenes. The camera never stops rolling. Even for a jam sandwich.

POV: The feature shoot is your 79 year old Dad. You have just made him climb the hill up to Braddon’s Lookout on an icy Tasmanian Sunday morning and he needs a break to pull on a wind jacket and eat a jam sandwich.

Did I feel a little bad about it?

Maybe.

Not quite bad enough to stop filming though.

When the door opens at Nigel Minchin’s home, you are not walking into a gallery.

You are walking into his world.

Room upon room. Walls layered with colour, culture and story. Paintings that hold you a little longer each time you look. Techniques that move between places, people, time and worlds.

On rare occasions Nigel opens his home and invites you to wander through the space where these works live, to view and buy his work.

I had the privilege of experiencing it with Nigel walking me through each room while I captured images and video for his upcoming artist open home.
