I am often asked why did I become a Marriage and Funeral Celebrant?
Farewell is a natural part of the grieving process following the loss of a loved one. It provides an important opportunity to acknowledge loss, honour a life, and begin navigating the journey of grief. Unfortunately, for some like me and many others this process can become discombobulated — a word I can type confidently but still struggle to pronounce!
Supporting and keeping the spirit of those we have lost, particularly for families and communities experiencing grief across our state the country and the world is something I strongly advocate for and feel privileged to support.
Today was a gentle reminder of the profound importance of our loved ones and the connections we share. It also reinforced the importance of holding onto hope, even during the most difficult periods.
May we continue to honour those we have lost, support those who are grieving, and never lose sight of hope. 🙏🤍
