It’s judging time again for the 2026 Mumbrella CommsCon Awards – and our Founder, Liane Gawne is delighted to once again be on the jury – a task she has undertaken for nearly a decade!

Liane says this is one of her favourite times of the year, seeing up close the talent and ingenuity across the sector, while giving back to the industry. These awards are the PR and communications industry’s biggest gala of the year, celebrating and recognising excellence across a range of verticals, from business to consumer, government to pro-bono, and awards the best agencies and internal communications teams of all sizes.

In 2026 Liane is judging the Best PR Employer and Best Campaign with a Small Budget, and we can’t wait to see the results on Awards night!

A message from our Founder:

Today we farewell a Sauce super star.

Lynn Semjaniv was appointed Managing Director in 2022 when I stepped back to focus on family and welcome our daughter Abigail. Lynn stepped into the role with energy, care and dedication and has led Sauce through a period of growth and change over the past three years.

More recently, Lynn has been navigating a challenging personal period and after careful consideration has made the decision to step away from her role to care for her elderly mum. This was not an easy decision, but one made thoughtfully and with her family front of mind.

With Lynn stepping back, I will be returning to the business in a day-to-day management capacity - a role I’m excited to resume. My focus is on ensuring continuity for our clients and team, maintaining momentum across our current work, and continuing to deliver the strategic counsel, creativity and service that Sauce is known for.

On behalf of all of us at Sauce - thank you Lynn for ten amazing years. You’ll always be a part of the Sauce story. Here’s a few snaps of our journey together!❤️

We are celebrating 8 years of Jess Skilbeck, one of our Account Directors here at Sauce and an Event Management SUPERSTAR!

To celebrate, we asked Jess some questions to help her reminisce:

🍅 What’s a moment from the past 8 years that still makes you smile?
Seeing any event/project come to life after months of planning is an unbeatable feeling. Also any time I get to be with the Sauce team in person – they always make me smile!

🍅 How has your role or perspective changed since you first started?
I have had a huge amount of professional growth in my time with Sauce, with every project giving me a new perspective and experience, which is one of my favourite parts about the job! (oh and I’ve also accumulated a husband and 3 kids..)

🍅 What keeps you excited about coming to work at Sauce after 8 years?
The diversity of work, and connecting with regional and rural focused clients.

Come pack Sauce Xmas hampers with us!

This Christmas, we’re toasting you - our true champions of Sauce.

Your trust and partnership have helped us deliver real results for the businesses and communities of rural and regional Australia for more than two decades. Here’s to the next 20 years of bold ideas, bright results and raising the bar together.

Includes a signature Sauce cocktail recipe:

‘Sauce in Bloom” is bold, refreshing and full of character - just like us! It’s a cocktail that celebrates creativity, authenticity and the fresh results we’re known for.

Ingredients:
• 50 ml Sauces 20-year celebratory gin
• 15 ml elderflower liqueur
• 15 ml fresh lemon juice
• 10 ml simple syrup (or mandarin syrup for extra citrus brightness)
• 2 basil leaves (lightly muddled for garden freshness)

Garnish:
•Cherry tomato skewer across the rim
• Optional: edible flower (like viola or nasturtium) for some visual flair!

Method:
• Chill your coupe glass.
• In a shaker, gently muddle basil leaves with syrup.
Add gin, elderflower liqueur, and lemon juice.
• Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 12-15 seconds.
• Double strain into the chilled coupe glass for a smooth finish.
• Garnish with the cherry tomato skewer and edible flower and enjoy!

When our client Murrumbidgee Irrigation Limited wanted to showcase their connection to the Murrumbidgee River and the importance of water to the communities and producers of the MIA, they decided to turn to art. The beautiful artwork created by local artist Shelby-Rae Lyons not only illustrated the 2026 Annual Report but also graces the wall of the MI head office. We loved supporting MI to deliver the project from go to whoa!
