Why some growth investors actually need low risk.

The term “growth investor” describes the goal, not the constraints.

People love to see themselves as growth investors in shares until they need the money.

Plenty of people want growth from their savings, but cannot afford the type of losses that typical growth portfolios create.

Being in growth stocks and assets requires staying invested through tough times— not just high returns.

Growth does not come from choosing risky assets once.
It comes from staying invested for many years without being forced out.

A Growth investor who:

sells during drawdowns
switches strategies at the wrong time
reduces exposure after losses,

Will always grow slower than a calmer investor using a lower‑risk conservative or moderate model.

The "Rent-to-Offset" Velocity

Even if a property is negatively geared, it still brings in Gross Rent into the mix.

The Strategy: You don't put that rent into a separate bank account. You have it paid directly into your Home Loan Offset Account.

This has the same effect as water chipping away at a rock over time. Add more water and the effect grows.
-
The Result: For every day dollar that sits in your offset before being used to pay investment expenses, it cancels out the interest on your home loan. This "velocity" of money saves you thousands in non-deductible interest over the year.
