What do a mechanic, a bowling alley, and a local club all have in common?

If the lighting isn't doing its job, it can impact the entire customer experience.

That's exactly what next week's feature presentation will explore with David Masters our chapter's Commercial Electrician from Hornsby Electric

Dave's presentation will focus on how quality lighting helps businesses create safer, more professional, and more welcoming environments for both customers and staff.

Known by many as the "5-star electrician," Dave has built a reputation for exceptional customer service, quality workmanship, and consistently delivering great outcomes for his clients. His long list of happy customers and outstanding Google reviews are a reflection of the care he brings to every project.

Dave is particularly looking to connect with businesses that operate from physical premises where lighting plays an important role in the customer experience. This could include:

• Mechanics and automotive workshops
• Bowling alleys and entertainment venues
• Clubs and hospitality venues
• Warehouses and industrial facilities
• Retail stores and showrooms
• Any business where lighting impacts safety, productivity, or customer perception

He'll also share more about the clients he works best with and how the chapter can confidently refer him.

If you know a business whose lighting could benefit from an upgrade, this will be a valuable session.

✨ Celebrating Contribution, Referrals & Recognition ✨

One of the things we love most about BNI is recognising members who consistently contribute to the success of others. This week was a great opportunity to celebrate some outstanding achievements within the chapter.

🏆 Golden Microphone Winner

Congratulations to Sarah Beth Conron from Mantovani Movers for taking out this week's Golden Mic.

Sarah delivered a highly relevant referral request, focusing on building relationships with real estate agents who genuinely care about their clients and want to provide the best possible experience throughout the property journey.

As a removalist, Sarah understands that moving house is often one of the most stressful experiences people face. That's why she and the Mantovani Movers team are committed to delivering a smooth, organised, and positive experience from start to finish.

For Sarah, partnering with like-minded real estate agents who share those values creates better outcomes for everyone involved, especially the client.

👏 Monthly Notable Networkers

Congratulations to our latest Notable Networkers:

• David Masters – Most Thank You for Closed Business Given
• Andrea – Most 1-2-1 Meetings
• Helen and Nalini – Most Visitors Brought (tie)
• Ben – Most Referrals Given

A special mention goes to Dave's achievement for Most Thank You for Closed Business Given.

In BNI, this award is unique because it doesn't recognise how much business a member received. Instead, it recognises how much business they helped create for others.

A Thank You for Closed Business is recorded when a referral results in real business for another member. This award celebrates the member whose referrals generated the most closed business within the chapter.

It's a powerful example of our core philosophy, **Givers Gain**. We believe that by helping others succeed first, success naturally follows. It's one of the things that makes BNI different from many other networking organisations.

👋 Visitors Welcome

We were pleased to welcome the following visitors to the room this week:

💡 Why Do People Choose Biz Masters?

Every month, we meet business owners who are exploring BNI for the first time. Some are looking for referrals. Others are looking for connections. Many are simply looking for a community that understands the challenges of running a business.

In May, we welcomed two fantastic new members to the chapter: Louise Chiu, CA 👑 Chiu (Residential Mortgage Broker) and Linda Ding (Commercial Loans).

When asked why she decided to apply for Biz Masters, Louise shared:

"I have visited other chapters as a substitute and visitor and I realised BNI really works. You really have a family behind you in business. Because you have family members and friends who don't really understand why you're in business, but BNI people understand."

Linda had a similar experience.

"From the first time I came in, I saw so many friendly faces and so many beautiful smiles and that really touched me. I think I'm a very old-school person and I like this personal touch, so that's why I decided to join the chapter."

Those comments resonated strongly with our members because they capture what makes Biz Masters special. Yes, we generate referrals. Yes, we help businesses grow. But at the heart of it, we're a community of people who genuinely support one another.

One of our favourite examples of this is the story behind Louise joining the chapter.

Our Mentor Coordinator, Helen, described it as a perfect example of Givers Gain in action.

Several months ago, when Andrea Hernandez was exploring BNI for the first time, it was actually Louise who reached out to her on LinkedIn and encouraged her to visit a newly launching chapter in North Ryde. Andrea visited, connected with Louise immediately, and began her BNI journey.

While Andrea ultimately chose to join Biz Masters because she was looking for an established chapter, the two stayed in touch over the months.

Fast forward to today, and when the Residential Mortgage Broker seat became available at Biz Masters, one of the first people Andrea contacted was Louise.

"Are you going to apply?"

The rest is history.

What looks like an invitation from Andrea to Louise was actually a relationship that started with Louise giving first months earlier. A perfect example of how genuine relationships and the philosophy of Givers Gain come full circle.

If you're looking for more than just networking, and want to be part of a business community that genuinely supports one another's success, we'd love to welcome you to visit.

How much of your weekend is spent cleaning?

For many busy professionals, families, and pet owners, the answer is "too much." Between vacuuming pet hair, cleaning bathrooms, and keeping on top of household chores, it's easy for valuable personal time to disappear.

That's exactly what next week's feature presentation will explore with Devi Natalia from JD Skycorp Professional Cleaning Services, our chapter's Residential Cleaner.

Devi's presentation, "Creating Healthier and Happier Homes Through Professional Cleaning," will look at how a professionally maintained home can do much more than simply look clean.

She'll share how regular cleaning contributes to healthier living environments, reduces stress, and gives people back one of their most valuable resources: time.

Devi works closely with busy households, professionals, families, and pet owners who would rather spend their weekends enjoying life than catching up on chores.

She'll also share more about the clients she works best with and how the chapter can confidently refer her.

If you know someone who spends their free time battling pet hair, scrubbing bathrooms, or struggling to keep up with household cleaning, this will be a valuable session.

"Who spent their weekend cleaning pet hair and bathrooms?"

That was the question that earned Devi Natalia this week's Golden Microphone award. 🏆

Devi from JD Skycorp Professional Cleaning Services our chapter's Residential Cleaner, delivered a highly specific referral request that immediately got people thinking about the busy pet owners and families in their networks.

Her ideal clients are people who work hard all week, only to spend their valuable free time catching up on household cleaning, vacuuming pet hair, scrubbing bathrooms, and tackling the never-ending list of chores around the home.

Devi helps give that time back.

By taking care of the cleaning, she helps clients enjoy cleaner, healthier homes while freeing up their weekends to spend more time doing the things they actually enjoy.

Congratulations to Devi on taking out the Golden Mic and earning a 90-second presentation next week.

🎤 Featured Speaker Next Week

Coincidentally, Devi is also next week's featured speaker, presenting:

🔹 Creating Healthier and Happier Homes Through Professional Cleaning 🔹

She'll be sharing how professional cleaning goes beyond appearance, creating healthier living environments and improving quality of life for busy families and professionals.

Before you spend money on SEO, ask yourself one question: was your website actually built with Google in mind?

Many business owners invest heavily into a website that looks great visually, but lacks the foundations needed to achieve strong visibility online. And then spend thousands on SEO trying to fix what a good website would have done from the start.

That’s exactly what next week’s feature presentation will explore with Andrea Hernandez from Adventures Web Digital.

Andrea’s presentation, “Website Foundations Google Loves,” will unpack some of the key website foundations that many developers overlook and why the websites her team builds are designed differently, with long-term visibility and performance in mind from day one.

The session will include a real case study showing how the right structure and strategy can help businesses achieve faster Google visibility, along with practical tips business owners can apply to their own websites immediately.

Sometimes, a few small changes can lead to significant improvements.

Andrea is particularly looking to connect with branding agencies, marketing agencies, and paid advertising agencies that support businesses strategically but don’t develop websites in-house.

Whether you already have a website or are considering a new one, this will be a valuable session for understanding what actually helps websites perform online.

What’s worse: having a website nobody can find, or one that gets traffic but never converts?

That was the focus of this week’s Golden Mic-winning pitch from Andrea Hernandez at BNI Biz Masters.

🏆 Golden Microphone Winner

Andrea from Adventures Web Digital took out this week’s Golden Mic by sharing the two most common problems business owners face with their websites.

The first is a visibility problem. Businesses may have a fantastic website, but nobody can actually find it on Google, meaning the website generates little to no enquiries.

The second is a conversion problem. Some businesses are already getting traffic to their website, but the enquiries simply aren’t converting into real business opportunities.

Andrea helps solve both.

She also shared a simple way to identify potential referrals through everyday conversations:

“How’s business going? Do you get much work from your website?”

If the answer opens the door to either of those problems, the next step is simple:

“Let me connect you with Andrea, I think she can help.”

Winning the Golden Mic means Andrea will receive a 90-second pitch next week, which lines up perfectly with her upcoming feature presentation:

🔹 Website Foundations Google Loves 🔹

The presentation will explore how building websites with the right foundations gives businesses the best possible chance of achieving strong visibility on Google quickly and effectively.

Andrea is particularly looking to connect with branding agencies, marketing agencies, and paid advertising agencies that support businesses strategically but don’t develop websites in-house.

👋 Visitors Welcome

This week we welcomed 3 visitors to the room who came to hear Helen's presentation on decluttering:

• Jane Langof, Feng Shui Concepts
• Wendy Jane Whalley – Get Sorted
• Coco Ho – C&S Health

Thank you everyone for visiting! As a chapter in a strong growth phase, we continue to welcome visitors from all professions who are looking to grow through trusted relationships and structured referrals.

🏡 Calling Conveyancers – A Rare Opportunity in Biz Masters 🏡

We currently have an open Conveyancer classification in our BNI chapter and are actively welcoming conveyancers to visit and explore whether our chapter is the right fit.

This is a highly sought-after seat within a BNI chapter due to the strong referral potential and natural connections across the property industry. Opportunities like this don’t remain open for long.

Our chapter already includes a Residential Mortgage Broker, Commercial Broker, Buyer’s Agent, and multiple trades and property-related professionals, creating strong referral pathways and ongoing opportunities for collaboration.

For the right conveyancer, this is an opportunity to become the trusted go-to professional within an established and growing referral network.

At Biz Masters, we’re focused on building genuine relationships, supporting one another’s growth, and creating consistent business opportunities through structured referrals.

We’re a warm, welcoming chapter in a strong growth phase and would love to meet conveyancers who are looking to grow through trusted relationships and word-of-mouth marketing.

If you’re a conveyancer, or know someone who would be a great fit, we encourage you to come along and experience the chapter firsthand.

What happens when the people who spend their lives caring for others don’t have the time or energy to take care of their own space?

For many nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, and carers, busy schedules and emotionally demanding work can leave little time to manage the clutter and organisation at home.

That’s exactly what next week’s feature presentation will explore with Helen Maguire from Clarity Matters, our chapter’s Professional Declutterer and Organiser.

Helen works with busy individuals and families who are feeling overwhelmed by clutter and helps create calm, functional spaces that make everyday life easier and less stressful.

Her presentation will explore how thoughtful organisation and decluttering can create greater clarity, reduce stress, and help people regain control of their environment, especially those who spend so much of their time looking after everyone else.

Helen is particularly looking to connect with nurses, doctors, medical professionals, allied health professionals, and carers who may need support creating more manageable and organised spaces at home.

She’ll also share more about the clients she works best with and how the chapter can confidently refer her.

If you know someone who’s constantly caring for others but could use a helping hand themselves, this will be a valuable session.
