Washed up tropical beach treasures from Quintal Beach near Lockhart River - mangrove flowers and sea urchin casing.

Sea urchin casings, scientifically called tests, are the hard, internal calcium carbonate shells left behind after an urchin dies and its spines fall off.

And then one landed 3 metres away in the rainforest in front of our camp! Did I gasp in delight? Yes! Did my heart skip a beat? Yes. Did I grab my camera and spend the next half hour falling in love all over again? Definitely!!! It's official, I 🥰 Palm Cockatoos!!!
(I especially love the 'peepo' one!🤗)

Finally! After so many years printing this magnificent bird I finally saw one here in Kutini-Payamu Nat Pk on a dawn beach walk. Such a large cockatoo with that enormous beak yet their presence is so gentle and benign with only a loud singular whistle to betray their presence. I'm in love! ❤️🌴

I'm out here on Gabo Island on World Albatross Day working with Friends of Mallacoota doing weeding work and vegetation assessments.
The Shy Albatross, Australia's only endemic albatross, can be seen out here in Bass Strait but breeds exclusively on 3 remote islands off the Tasmanian coast.
It's listed as vulnerable. Would be so fabulous to see one while I'm out here... like seeing an old friend, having lovingly printed my Shy Albatross design for some years now.

Going going gone! Well, that colour anyway. Cutting out the last of the Ocean Blue fabric to do small top up print runs of Azure Kingfishers, Stilt & White-bellied Sea Eagle designs.

I've made the decision to stop buying and dying fabric which means when a colour is finished, that's it! A difficult decision to make after 45 years in business, cutting & printing my way thru hundreds of rolls of fabric over the years!

I'm still printing and will be in business selling stock online via my website for a few years yet. I might even make it to 50 years in business, depending on sales.
If there's a design you particularly want, now is the time to buy it because there will be no guarantee of supply once fabric runs out.
