I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for my lovecore design on spoonflower. Unfortunately I didn’t win, there were so many awesome designs and competition was strong.
I have uploaded a few designs to spoonflower now so feel free to check them out. I’ve also started uploading a few designs to Society6 who ot just so happens are having a 35% off sale but it’s ending soon.
This neon leopard print is ip there on all kinds of stuff like yoga mats, towels, cushions and even Apple Watch bands! Here’s a link to get there: https://society6.com/meganfury

I took a leap and entered a design competition on Spoonflower! The theme was aesthetic, a kitsch valentine take on classic motifs in red, white and pink. Would absolutely love some support if you have a spare few moments to vote for my design (swipe across to see my design swatch).
Hot tip: the design order is randomly generated each time the page loads, to save your self some scrolling time, hit back and reload the page. Voting closes 16 November. Link in bio to click through to vote. Many thanks in advance!

A while back now, I created some limited edition scarves using my fluid artwork as the design. I have a few left and have wanted to do a sale and donate the profits for a while now but hadn’t had the energy to organise it all.
So here’s hoping that I can get my s**t together in the next couple of weeks and organise it. Stay tuned!!

All finished!! Enchilada, margarita, nachos, taco, jalapeño and burrito! Now I’m thinking some kind of quote would be good to finish it off... any suggestions? 🤔

Ok so this took for-ev-er to complete. Not too long ago I got a Cricut Joy. After making a couple of cards and vinyl labels I wanted to try something new. I’d seen some layered projects on Pinterest and thought I’d give it a go.
Rather that downloading a free project file as a trial I dove straight in and designed an original. I chose my daughter’s favorite things as a theme. It started out easy enough, I drew the design in Procreate, making sure each colour was on a separate layer, as well as using masking to keep it in an S shape.
Now I had the design I just needed to upload in into the Cricut app... here is where it got really tricky. I had to create each shape as a separate cut file, while ensuring that the piece to go under it also included it so there would be somewhere to glue it on. For example, the mermaid is made of four separate cut pieces; the skin, hair, bra and tail. The silhouette of the entire mermaid was cut from the skin card then the tail, bra and hair cut and glued on top.
It was a challenge to work out how to needed to be cut to work, like putting together a puzzle. It was time consuming too, I felt the Cricut app could be more intuitive when it comes to uploading your own files, which seems to be a common complaint among Cricut owners based on the fb group chats.
I used card from Kmart, cut it down and stuck it to my Cricut mat. I loaded each colour paper in separately, but have since seen a different method which looks like it would be faster (yet to trial). Carefully, I laid it all out to make sure it fit together before glueing the pieces in place. This also took a while and was more tedious than expected but I’m really happy with the end result.
I think a layered project this detailed would be easier in a larger size. I was constrained to the sheet size from the Cricut Joy so if I do this again I’ll opt for a more simplified design. I’m planning on framing it and using the 3M picture strips to stick it to my daughters door.

I’m really enjoying experimenting with surface design. Not entirely sure what I’ll end up doing with the designs I’m creating but I am having fun.

Caught a bit of the cross stitching bug, I mocked up a pattern in procreate before stitching it IRL, and this time I separated the thread like I was supposed to last time! Also I love Mexican food. Taco, Jalapeño and can you guess what is next?

Finally finished! For Christmas hubs gave me this awesome little kit from aptly named Aussie All Stars kit.
The kit comes with everything you need to complete the three designs pictured IF you follow the instructions. I, however, did not read the instructions properly before I started...
As a kid I loved crafting. School holidays were spent at Oma’s house, where my aunts, Mum and Oma would sit in the lounge knitting, or stitching different projects. My cousins and I would take part too, using offcuts or leftover supplies. I always struggled with knitting which my mum made look effortless, so I turned to stitching projects, like long stitch and cross stitch.
So when I started this kit I thought I knew what I was doing, you know being self taught at age 7, so I briefly skimmed the instructions before getting started. Bubble-O-Bill was first and the supplied patterns were easy to follow. Each night instead of phone scrolling I was happily stitching, and felt better for it!
I was almost finished my first cross stitch in decades when I realised I didn’t have enough thread to finish! I worked on the next two patterns but also ran out of thread. What was I doing wrong?
I looked at the stitching instructions again in more detail. No, I was stitching them right. Maybe it was just a mistake. So I got hubs to email to say I’d ran out of thread. He received a kind email back which included a link to an instruction video, which was also listed on the instructions that I didn’t read because I cross stitched a couple times as a kid... 😐
I watched the video and immediately realised my mistake. I used the full thread instead of separating the strands or ‘floss’. That’s why I ran out of thread, I was using double the amount I was supposed to!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Had I slowed down to read the instructions properly in the beginning I would have been fine! I was too far in now to unstitch so I bought the thread I needed and completed them using the whole thread.
So lesson learned for any future kits I do, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS PROPERLY! This kit is really awesome and well put together. Definitely recommend checking out and giving it a go!
