Felicity Weal Para Equestrian thank you so much for this lovely post. I will never forget my first event at SIEC, where I first met you. I was nervous as hell, not knowing what to do, I had asked Noella Angel - Para Athlete if I should ask people if they need a hand, her advice was they will ask you if they need a hand. Well, Felicity you did ask for some help, and I thought "I hope I can help", and you gave me a jar you couldn't open. I once helped you at SIEC to carry a couple of things to your car at the end of competition, but just the items you couldn't manage.
When I got to meet Kathy and Noella Angel - Para Athlete through them approaching me to make a float for them, I was going through probably not the best time of my life, after building the float for them and then attending a clinic for Noella's first clinic after amputation, I just got so much out of that clinic that I found something to help me move on from the crap that was my past life.
So, hence travelling to events to support the wonderful Para Equestrian community is now my happy place. I encourage friends to visit as well. I've even been introduced to Para Ice Hockey thanks to Noella Angel - Para Athlete.
Thank you again Felicity Weal Para Equestrian for such kind words, I have felt a bit emotional this afternoon.
Bit of a delayed post, but I wanted to take a moment to thank Cameron McGann from Mansfield Floats and Trailers for all of his support throughout my dressage journey, especially during the recent Boneo Park CPEDI.
I first met Cam through Noella and Kathy Angel at an event where he was supporting Noella, another Para athlete. From that very first meeting, he has been nothing but kind, encouraging and genuinely supportive of whatever goals I've set for myself. Whether it was a few encouraging words, some advice, or simply being there to cheer us on, his support has always been appreciated.
What stands out most is that there are no alterior motives and no expectations of anything in return. Cam simply shows up because he cares. He regularly comes along as a spectator to support all of the Para Dressage community, and we're incredibly lucky to have someone so passionate in our corner.
Thank you, Cam, for making the trip to Boneo, for your continued support, and for bringing such a positive energy to Para. It never goes unnoticed and is greatly appreciated ๐ ๐
