📱🌱 Nicole and Heidi are out of this wind and rain, and into conference mode at Hort Connections 2026.

It’s an important time for the industry. Growers continue to navigate significant challenges including rising input costs for fuel, fertiliser and crop protection products, labour availability and wage pressures, ongoing policy uncertainty, market access and supply chain disruptions, as well as the ongoing conversation around fair pricing and market power within Australia’s supermarket sector.

At the same time, increasing regulatory requirements and compliance costs are adding further pressure to farm businesses.

Events like Hort Connections provide a valuable opportunity for the industry to come together, share insights, discuss solutions and explore the innovations that will help drive a sustainable and profitable future for Australian horticulture.

As a social media agency for agribusiness, we’ve been harping on for years about the importance of originality in content.

Instagram’s latest algorithm update reinforces this message. And it’s good news for ag.

The update now prioritises rewarding those who share genuine stories over reposted content. For example Instagram has confirmed that accounts reposting content will no longer be eligible for recommendations across discovery surfaces such as Explore. Instead, the algorithm will prioritise content that demonstrates clear creative ownership.

This shift means those who are already sharing their experiences and stories in farming will be in the lead pack when it comes to surfacing their content.
Of course the bonus is you are also creating authentic connections with your audience.

Since the focus on originality began with Reels in 2024, this update signals a broader commitment to creativity across all content types. SMk reports Instagram defines original content broadly. It includes assets fully created in-house, as well as third-party material that has been materially enhanced with new context, insight, or perspective. Simple reposting, even with minor edits like captions or watermarks, will not qualify.

It’s a great opportunity to educate and inspire others about what we get up to in ag! Go be YOU!

Fantastic to see the clients we work with giving back to their local communities. This season Nufarm Seeds donated Vesta IMI canola seed to Natimuk local sporting club. 👏

Nufarm Seeds is proud to support the Natimuk United Football Netball Club in the Wimmera 🏉

🌼 This season we donated Vesta IMI canola seed with 100% of proceeds from harvest going back to the club.

It’s just one example of working together for a stronger future for agriculture and rural communities.

Who’s heading to LambEx26? 🙋‍♀️🐑
We’re especially looking forward to hearing from James Kerr on the panel Why Sheep? “Telling our stories.”
James is the station manager at Buckleboo Station, a 100,000 hectare sheep grazing property on South Australia’s northern Eyre Peninsula, operated under Heidi Wright’s family’s pastoral company,
He’s led a bold ecological reset there, introducing carbon farming and helping transform a drought-impacted property into a sustainability focused business. The farming business was recognised in 2024 SA Landcare Award for Sustainable Agriculture.

He’ll be joined by fellow sheep producers, just to name a few 👉 Henry Goode, from Barooka, Richard & Sardie Edgar from SW Victoria, Jack O’Connor from Oxton Park and Angus Whyte from Wyndham Station, NSW.

The program covers everything from building teams to breeding, animal health, production, containment and innovation. The wonderful is MC 👏 has the tough job of uniting more than 2,000 producers, processors, and industry professionals over three big days! We can’t wait to see you there!
