Hey, you know when you first launch a website you start getting people emailing you, offering cheap digital marketing or "we found SEO problems to fix"?

It's not just you. This happens to just about everyone with a visible email address or contact form. They send thousands of emails like this at a time.

Are these people being genuinely helpful? I can't say for sure. Speaking for myself as someone who looks at website performance, I wouldn't open with "you have a SEO problem" or "get cheap ads."

Whether the SEO or marketing help they promise is effective or not, this is a bit like asking a stranger to marry you. 😅 It's also a bit presumptuous that the website/business owner realises they have a "SEO problem". A lot of people don't even know what SEO is! 😅

Anyway, how do I approach this? Well, hopefully I get to know you in a more naturally paced way! (You know, like a friend introducing a friend to you at a party?) And I start with the business problem or ambition and work backwards from there.

Don't underestimate the power of a good social media campaign.

It's not just about the consistency of your posts. Rather, it's about speaking to people's desires and saying the right things to pique their attention over time. This is what helps your audience come to their own conclusion about taking the next step with you.

If Google traffic has dropped right off, then I don't blame you if you're questioning the value of maintaining your website.

Here's what I would do...

A) Consider if you can still surface in search results and (*sigh*, yes) AI generated answers.

B) Consider if your website still has a job to do in assisting someone to buy from you.

(Or do all of the above!)

I might help people build websites, but if I don't think you need one, I won't convince you to have one!
