Sometimes we’re thrown in the deep end of a responsibility or task that feels beyond our scope, at first. By digging deeper into the mental processes that it will require and familiarising ourselves with this newness gradually yet intensely, we will quickly come to realise that this direction is exactly where we need to be and what we were always destined for.

We all start from knowing nothing. Everything moment and action we fulfil is another layer of knowledge we can use for the next creative project that comes our way.

Krisp is 3 years old 🎈 Yesterday I sat with my assistant looking through a year’s worth of content I’ve captured for my clients to recap 365 days of events, creations and services in 20 seconds. The public representation of it all is done and it’s time to recognise our incredible achievements.

Reflecting on what it takes to keep up to date in this era, I’ve learnt soo much. It’s switched from a race of engagement to a presence. It’s proving that you’re still going, and it’s connecting with the people that actually support you, not just the eyeballs on your content.

The digital environment is always changing, and alongside it peoples behaviour here shifts. They follow where they feel the most safe and inspired. Perhaps a different platform, perhaps a total break for a hardcore reset.

When things move I just watch. I pay attention, and adapt. This is the reason Krisp has reached this milestone. Happy Birthday to the brand that has become its own entity, and to all the people who are here with me 🖤

If I don’t love what I’m doing it goes in the bin. I don’t forfeit my happiness and sanity for something that doesn’t feel good. I think this is why I gravitate towards the music and arts industry, because everyone I work with also loves what they’re doing. It’s a mutual understanding of what we’ve chosen to do with our time.

This week I literally made a list of all the things I do. Every brand identity, every project, every responsibility. It was overwhelming seeing it on paper at first, but when I divided it into priority and time required, it made sense.

Each branch of Serena Melanie is a compartmentalisation of things I want to offer this reality, things that make this reality more copeable for me, and things that deserved being passed on to the spawn.

Not necessarily saying that any of my current brands will survive another 2 decades, we adapt and we evolve. What will linger however.. is education, dedication and the blueprint to keep doing whatever the f*k we want.

Balancing life as a work from home mum feels more like a blessing. I can complete my tasks when and where I want, and I can provide my daughter the attention she deserves when she needs it. That means more conversations about the reality of life, more education around various stages of emotions, more role-modeling of what work can look like when we create our own rules.

Being by her side in these formative years before school is priceless. It creates the expectation that we are in control of our lives, something that has been passed onto me through multiple generations.

In some instances, Instagram has become a photo gallery landing page for a business more than a social platform. I like to approach business accounts with the knowledge that people who are considering whether to proceed with the service or product will visit the page to confirm the business is legitimate, and to get a feel for the place.

This may mean engagement is sometimes low, but views are not.. and those who do end up there have high purchase intent. These future customers aren’t looking at likes, they are looking for an insight into what they should expect.

How does Krisp survive with no paid advertising, no corporate networking events, and no affiliates? Why do people come to me for digital support 3 years after I messaged them about starting this business?

It’s an interesting pattern I’ve witnessed over the years. They’re not in the market for advertising or outsourcing, they’re in a slow period or a hiatus, and then I receive that message from someone that almost shocks me, scroll back and my previous contact was “Hey! Just letting you know I’m doing this thing now” from 2022!

It’s word of mouth, it’s sticking to my niche, it’s a consistent track record.

It’s also doing what I love, every single day. That translates more than an ad.

Bridging the gap between the future of technology and organic connections 🌱 Krisp supports a number of individuals across Australia in showcasing their business and services to their digital community niche. These include:
- Hospitality Venues
- Tech Start-ups
- Event Brands
- Co-Working Studios
- Artists

Funnelling my artistic training into a business has proven invaluable not only for me, but to countless others I continue to work with who value creative integrity and a stunning online presence. By utilising the AI image software Midjourney, I am able to form a presence for anyone who doesn’t have a tangible product. This allows me to continuously form talking points and grow an online following when traditional content creation is limited.

It hasn’t yet been 2 years of the Krisp entity. I’m very excited to see how far this venture takes us!
