Any time you manipulate or trick your audience into doing something for your benefit

You’re eroding brand trust.

And trust is the MOST critical thing a brand needs from consumers.

It’s also the hardest thing to build and the easiest to lose.

Don’t ever undermine trust with your audience for a quick engagement win.

What started out as an organic collab with turned into a shared worldwide community

When (Sam McKeon) started Melbourne streetwear brand over a decade ago

He didn’t know how marketing was ‘meant to be done’

So, he just followed his passions instead

And started collaborating with up and coming music artists and bands as a way to stay connected with an industry he loved.

It started out simply

Giving artists free product to wear for gigs in exchange for posting content on socials wearing it and tagging them.

And then evolved into making co-branded merch for albums and tours.

And eventually hosting their own gigs, parties and festivals.

The organic relationships built within the music industry have been a huge part of Billy Bones brand community growth.

And continue to be a big part of the community-led culture and experience of the brand.
