I had a client who went all in on Meta. Massive budget, beautiful creative, a flood of new awareness. Sales were on fire until they realised that their overall ROI had taken a huge hit.

The problem? They were so focused on planting the seeds (adding $$$ to Meta) that they didn't scale their Google Ads to match. And when you create a wave of awareness on social, people head to Google to search for you later. If your campaigns aren't ready for that volume, things unravel quickly.

🚀 The crop rots: you've paid to plant the seed on Meta but you're not showing up on Google when the customer is ready to buy. That’s $$$ left on the table.

🚀 Competitors jump the fence: you paid for the awareness, but if you're not bidding on your brand terms someone else will reap your harvest.

🚀 Your blended ROAS sinks: Meta is the expensive first touch. Without Google conversions to balance it out, the numbers stop working.

👉 Have you ever scaled one channel without realising it would put pressure on another?

If you’re planning a big Meta push, make sure your Google safety net is ready first. My DMs are always open if you need to chat ☕

You can't expect a harvest if you've stopped planting the seeds. 🌾

Even though we specialise in Google Ads, I spend a lot of time looking at clients' Meta data too. The two are way more connected than most people realise.

I had a client who was getting brilliant results on Google while running Meta ads through another partner. Their Meta ROAS looked low in isolation, so they cut the spend. It made sense on paper — but it backfired pretty quickly. As soon as they stopped planting, the Google harvest dried up too.

Here's the thing. Even when someone doesn't click a Meta ad, it still gets into their head. They're scrolling, not shopping — but you're building familiarity. Later, when they're ready to buy, they head to Google and search for you. Because they've already seen you, they're far more likely to choose you over a competitor they've never heard of.

If you're evaluating each platform in isolation, you're missing the bigger picture ✨

👉 Not sure how your platforms are working together? My DMs are always open.

Ten years ago, I bought an ecommerce store with absolutely no idea what I was doing. The ads account came with it, and I spent the first stretch completely overwhelmed — fumbling my way around Google Ads, spending money I probably shouldn't have, and making every mistake in the book 🤦🏻‍♀️

The business didn't make it. But that failure sent me somewhere I never expected, and I'm grateful for it. Somewhere along the way I fell in love with paid search, went on to work at an agency, and eventually took the leap to go out on my own.

A lot has changed since then — in the industry and in my life. But I'm glad to be back and looking forward to connecting with likeminded people again. If that's you, feel free to follow along ✨

👉 And if you ever want to chat paid search, my DMs are always open.

It’s been many months in the making, with a few delays thanks to some big personal setbacks in 2025 — and honestly, my own perfectionism too.

The website isn’t “finished” yet. Some pages are still WIPs and there’s more I want to add… but I decided progress matters more than perfection. Waiting for perfect was holding me back, and it feels so good to finally share it. Check it out 👉 www.giantleapmarketing.com.au

If you’re waiting for the perfect moment, this is your sign to take the leap ✨And if you need help with PPC — management, coaching, audits or strategy — I'd love to chat.

Did you get slammed by the March core update? You’re not alone.
Here are our top evergreen tips for how to bounce back stronger than before and build resiliency for future updates.

🚀1: Pivot to Paid Ads
If you have the budget for it, this is the fastest way to recover lost visibility. When your organic ranking takes a hit, paid ads can protect your brand, provide exposure, and keep you competitive in tough markets. Think of paid ads as an opportunity to provide your brand with a little breathing room while you get your SEO efforts back online.

🚀2: Focus on Quality Content
Google's update emphasised the importance of content that meets user needs and expectations. According to a Google spokesperson, searchers will now see 45% less low-quality search results. This means an investment in human-centric content has never mattered more.

🚀3: Improve the User Experience (UX)
This is not to say your website has to look like every other website out there. However, like your content, your site needs to be designed for people—not search engines. Factors such as page speed, mobile responsiveness, and easy navigation still impact SEO performance and will continue to matter.

🚀4: Conduct an SEO Audit
Take time for a thorough review of your site structure, internal linking efforts, the quality of your backlinks, meta tags, and schema markup. Like a leaky tap, small problems with quick fixes can still escalate.

🚀5: Monitor, Adjust, Adapt
Before, during, and after any changes, it's always good to monitor your performance using analytics tools to see where you might need to make updates. Monitoring performance can also tell you if your rank dropped for "junk" searches or for keywords that actually matter.

Need to get back to the top of SERPs fast? We help boost your brand visibility, keep you competitive, and grow your revenue through paid ads. If your brand took a hit from the March core update, we're here to help. Send us a DM to get started.

If you've been blissfully unaware of the changes that started in May, now is the time to pay attention. As of August 1st, similar audiences will be automatically removed & replaced with optimised targeting & audience expansion (that's AI, baby!).

Google says that these are "more powerful and durable automated solutions". We say, "test test test". No matter who you choose to listen to, if you are still targeting similar audiences, take control & either:

🚀 Test the automation in a controlled scenario
or
🚀 Opt out of 'Optimised targeting and audience expansion' from 'Settings' under Audience Manager
