Charisma starts with how energised, vibrant and atmospheric your voice tone is.

When you enter the boardroom, step on-stage to pitch, deliver critical messages to your team or sell your products or services you must go in with confident energy.

Only then will the audience remain invested in what you have to say.

Let me share what you need to achieve expert presence in a critical scenario where your body will likely react in stress:

1. Performance pressure protocols (to compose your thoughts and body demeanour) that mitigate the adrenal reaction that will undo your logical thinking, breath + voice calibration and facial warmth in the blink of an eye.

2. Vocal skill. The best voice users know how to use their voice like a performer. This involves training the muscle according to acoustic principles. A personalised approach is the only viable way to do this. Do not rely on a youtube video, it will do more harm than good.

3. Metacognitive devices to ensure agile and responsive speaking. If you drop thoughts and lose your ideas when stressed, a script is going to make it worse. Train your brain to form robust language, on demand, when speaking aloud.

4. The fitter you look, the more charisma you will have. Healthy food boosts your IQ. Exercise makes you look your best. Although this is my candid opinion, the research does not lie. People who look good will engage their audience the best.

5. Groom yourself. Show up sloppy in the theatre and you disrespect the audience. Consider the visual effect you create when you enter the room. Be strategic. Be impeccable. It’s your reputation.

6. if you’re in monotone, you need to get on top of it. You’re boring everyone around you. But don’t add too much expression like some people on Youtube say or you’ll appear neurotic. Excess expression is unattractive and will drop your value faster than monotone. Monotone sucks the mood. Excess expression sucks your credibility.

An attractive voice is an expressive one.

If you’re constantly speaking in monotone, instructions to be more “expressive” will leave you either frustrated or vocally tired.

Speakers stuck in monotone typically have less vocal coordination skill and lower devices for emotional expression.

We first need to diagnose what is coming across in your typical speaking voice and isolate what will create a valid prognosis.

Your voice is a signal of your mood. It shows shame, joy, guilt fear.

Changing your expression is not enough. It may do more harm than good.

The work is embodying the sound required and the product of integrating:
- vocal acoustics
- muscle tone and health
- speaker intent
- artistic planning
- calibration when in speaker stress

This is one of the patterns I assess inside the profile appointment. You will learn precisely what is unravelling your tone and importantly how to fix it in a verified way. A YouTube playlist will not solve this. Diagnosis yields intentional outcomes.
