Different rides. Different personalities. One BikeSA.

BikeSA | The Peak Body for Recreational Cycling in SA is South Australia’s peak cycling body, with a long list of programs, tours and sub-brands under one roof.

That came with its own challenge.

Make them all look the same and you flatten their personalities. Let them all do their own thing and you’ve got a small identity crisis on your hands.

The drivetrain at the heart of BikeSA’s identity gave us the shared DNA. From there, each got its own colour, shape and rhythm.

Different enough to stand on their own. Familiar enough to belong together.

With sustainability in mind, the new identity will be phased in as existing merchandise and collateral are used up.

BikeSA | The Peak Body for Recreational Cycling in SA is South Australia’s peak cycling body, bringing together riders, members, events and programs across the state.

A biking organisation this big needed a full-blown design system, built to flex without losing the plot.

The drivetrain became the thread running through it all.

We scaled it, repeated it, cropped it, spun it and broke it apart to build a visual system that could keep changing without losing BikeSA.

Membership cards, screens, campaigns, jerseys, billboards, event spaces. It had a fair bit of ground to cover.

One drivetrain. A whole lot of places to take it.

How do you revamp a brand people have known for decades without losing what made it familiar?

BikeSA has shaped cycling in South Australia since 1982, with 70,000+ members and participants each year.

Over time, BikeSA had outgrown its identity. Programs and touchpoints had evolved separately, while the brand still carried decades of recognition.

The challenge was to bring it all together, make it relevant to new riders, and not lose the people who already knew and trusted BikeSA | The Peak Body for Recreational Cycling in SA.

A wheel felt obvious. Too obvious. And we weren’t exactly looking to reinvent one.

The drivetrain made more sense. Chain, cogs, movement. One of those parts of a bike you see all the time without really noticing. Specific enough to feel cycling, subtle enough not to shout it.

It also naturally carried ideas of movement, connection and progress.

That became the starting point for BikeSA’s new identity and the wider brand system around it.

She balances big-picture thinking with real operational experience, and has a knack for turning ideas into things that actually work. A long-time champion of Dreamjar, Rebecca has believed in the quality of our work well before joining the Board.
