It's always fun to work on old family photos. Taking a print that's seen better days and copying it to bring it back to its former glory is a real sense of achievement. A good example is the featured photo. A customer's parents on their wedding day is a precious artifact and white this was an easier job than others we have dealt with, the before and after really shows the difference. Another happy client in the end.

Both a sad and happy event over the weekend at . We celebrated the life and photography of Michael Silver, father of Daniel our Print manager and Husband to Susanne who runs Magnet. Who passed away suddenly a month ago. A fantastic crowd of friends and family came with many more sadly unable to attend. Michael and Susanne created both magnet and Photonet with the latter being the name of Michael's freelance photography business which he successfully ran for about 40 years after leaving the newspapers. It eventually evolved into the printing business we have today but Micheal still did professional photography work almost to the very end. Photography was his love and life as much as his family. So we bid farewell to Michael as we continue his legacy supporting photography and the wonderful people who are part of it!

'Solo' by Deborah Horner.

Last week of the 16th annual International Women's Day show which finishes at 4pm Sat 11th April.
As ever a strong line up of women photographers all working to a given theme for them to interpret as they chose.

Deborah has been a friend of the gallery and Photonet Fine Art Printing for years so it's always fun to see what her entries will be like. Here, a gentle cepia tone really enhances the print and certainly adds to the rocky texture of the wall.

Due to circumstances it's been a little while since we posted but here's something big to show! Photography by Stan Meissner 'Feathertop Winter' is a fantastic work at just under 2.5 meters long. Panoramic scenes like this really deserve the BIG treatment and canvas does this so well. It's really fun watching the work reveal itself out of the printer at this scale.

Printed on Moab Paper Anasazi Premium Matt Canvas this piece and others like it are generally taken to be stretched just like a painting.
