SOOPKNIFE/graphics Graphic Design by Yuri Huijg My assignments vary enormously from A to Z: if it sparks my braincells, I will dive in headfirst.

Starting at the very early age of five to achieve a career in professional dance taught me focus and goals through hard work and discipline. After a successful dance career spanning 15 years my passion for Graphics and Brand Concepts grew and I formally completed 4 years of studies covering Graphic Design, Typography, DTP, Concept Development and Web Design in 2010. After graduating with honours,

I worked as Creative Designer for a Dutch advertising agency and alongside this role I developed Soopknife (previously called wHYage graphiX). Works to date are for print, digital and web, stills and motion graphics, including: advertising, image manipulation, retouch & enhancement, creative concepts, logo- and brand development, corporate identities, typography, visual communication, campaigns, magazines, packaging, artwork, illustrations, websites, animations, visualisations. Through the skills gained in my all-round studies and hands-on experience I am able to offer a complete package: from sketch to finished product, able to execute almost all elements myself. I'm a passionate designer with a keen eye for detail who balances the client’s wishes, needs and deadlines while still remaining true to my aesthetics and relevance to current trends. This includes offering sometimes (maybe less obvious) graphic solutions to achieve the ultimate goal: getting the message across to the target group(s). My starting point is usually outside the box, but I am definately still able to think inside it too. Most skilled within Photoshop, but I can also easily work with the CS programs Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver (html/css) & InDesign and certainly not afraid, even eager to learn and study more when required to keep on top of new developments.

Dit jaar lieve mensen, na een jaar pauze en een jaar ‘net Ff anders’ is, hebben wij de bouwvakkers alvast geregeld, want Het Dak Gaat Eraf! Al zoveel berichtjes van jullie, het zindert en het knispert van voorpret. 🤩🥳

Lang lang lang geleden begonnen als een woest en wild idee, nu 12,5 jaar later de plek waar veel mensen elkaar jaarlijks op Ibiza treffen: Sunset People! Het allerleukste feelgood feest op het eiland. Mogen wij dat zeggen? Ja dat mogen wij zeggen…😉 Altijd leuk, altijd gezellig, altijd blije mensen: het is een feest om Sunset People te mogen geven!

Zien we jullie bij Sunset People en Sunset People at night? Voetjes in het zand, cocktail in de hand…Let’s dance!

At the request of the festival I've updated last year's trailer, since it was hardly ever in action due to the cancellation of the festival. It provided a rare opportunity to finetune. Happy!

For the 3rd consecutive year I had the honour and pleasure to create the campaign visual, collateral, a mini-expo and the trailer/ident for the 23rd Amsterdam Film Festival Roze Filmdagen 2020. On the actual opening day in March, 'that' virus forced the entire festival to get cancelled. Forward half a year and "RFD Redux", corona-proof, is now a fact - with an expansion to Rotterdam.

Campaign created for a concert by Claire Munting and Luba Podgayskaya, originally planned to celebrate the arrival of Spring.
