Part 6 of the Golden Hollywood series pays tribute to British actress, model, and humanitarian, Audrey Hepburn.
She began her performing career with ballet, training in Amsterdam as a young girl. Her striking looks and poise onstage saw her become a ready made actress, and she made her film debut in 1948's Dutch in Seven Lessons. She played bit part roles throughout the 40s, before managing her first starring role in 1953's Roman Holiday, where she played a princess who fell in love with an American newsman. Her star rose throughout the 50s, before scoring her most iconic role yet - the role of Holly Golightly in 1961's Breakfast at Tiffany's.
She semi-retired in 1968 to spend more time with her family, and to focus on her humanitarian career with UNICEF.
She was diagnosed with a rare form of abdominal cancer in 1992, and passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 20th, 1993, aged 63.
