Over the past year, something subtle but massive has been happening in the way people search for information.

More and more, they’re skipping Google altogether and heading straight to tools like ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini. Not for fun, not for novelty, but because these tools give them something Google can’t: a direct, conversational answer without the noise.

And here’s the part most businesses haven’t caught up with yet.
If people are searching inside AI tools, then your website needs to be written in a way that AI can actually understand and use.

That’s where AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) comes in.
It’s no longer enough to rank on Google. Your content now needs to be structured so AI can pull it into answers, summaries and recommendations.

Because when someone asks:

“Who offers this service near me”

“What’s the best option for…”

“How do I fix…”

AI tools decide which businesses appear in those responses.
Not based on ads.
Not based on backlinks.
But based on clarity, structure and trust signals in your content.

We’re entering a new era where your visibility depends on how well AI can interpret your website.

If your content isn’t AEO‑ready, you’re invisible in the places people are now searching first.

The businesses who adapt early will be the ones who stay discoverable.

And yes… this is exactly why I wrote this post
I’m now offering AEO, SEO and GEO optimisation services to help businesses show up in AI search results — not just Google. If you want your website to be understood, trusted and surfaced by tools like ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini, get in touch.

Some days, running a business feels like watering a plant. You cannot just do it once and hope it thrives. It needs small, steady moments of care. That is how I think about keeping a Google Business Profile fresh. Every time you share a little update, a behind the scenes moment, a new service, a reminder, or something you are excited about, it feels like giving your business a quick drink of sunlight. People discover you in these tiny moments. A parent scrolling during a quiet cup of tea. Someone searching for help late at night. A local who did not even know you existed until your post appeared. So here is your gentle nudge. Keep your profile alive. Share what is happening. Celebrate the small wins. Tell people what is new, what is coming, or what you are working on. Those little updates build trust long before someone ever clicks Contact. Just like that plant on the windowsill, your visibility grows one small post at a time. (If you are unsure how to set your own Google Business Profile up, please reach out)

Thinking about a website but not sure where to start? A one page website could be the answer. I see so many businesses in the early stages of building their online presence. They’re refining their services, shaping their message or simply getting things moving. And often they think they need a full multi‑page website before they’re “ready”.

But the truth is, a one page website can be one of the smartest ways to get started. A lot of businesses begin with a clear service, a strong purpose and a need to look professional online, even if they don’t have pages and pages of content yet. A one page site gives them exactly that plus it can fit in with start up budgets alot easier. Everything a customer needs sits in one smooth, simple scroll. Who you are, what you offer, why people choose you and how to get in touch.

No pressure to fill extra pages. No overwhelm. Just a clean, focused online presence that feels polished and intentional. What surprises many people is how effective a one page site can be. It loads quickly, it’s easy to navigate and when structured properly it still supports SEO, AEO and GEO.

It’s designed to guide visitors clearly and convert them without distraction.
And when it’s built on the right platform, it becomes a foundation you can grow from. As your business evolves, you can add new pages, expand your services and build out the site without starting again.

A one page website isn’t a shortcut. It’s a smart first step. A way to get online confidently, professionally and affordably while giving yourself room to grow at your own pace. Sometimes simple is exactly what your business needs to move forward.

I have included some examples of this that I did for The Kind Nest Collective and Mini Milestone. A one page website which can flow with sections including menu items navigating to each section.

Businesses don't have to miss out on an online presence when content is minimal. It just needs to be created with intention!

**Website Care Plans**

Don’t let a website crash hold you back from launching a new service or product.

A simple oversight can cause chaos, like outdated plugins and missed security patches.

Stay ahead of technical issues with adding your website to my website care plan. I have a few packages to choose from as well as offering white label services for your business to offer this service to your own clients.

Reach out for more information.

Last week a business owner reached out in a bit of a panic. Her website had gone down right before a product launch. Nothing had changed on her end, so she assumed it was a hosting issue. It turned out to be something far simpler and far more common. Her site had not been updated in months. Plugins were outdated, security patches had been missed and a small conflict snowballed into a full site crash.
She lost hours trying to troubleshoot something that could have been prevented with routine maintenance. By the time we restored everything she said the same thing I hear from so many business owners. I wish I had kept it updated. I just never have the time.
This is exactly why I offer WordPress maintenance plans. They keep your site secure, stable and running smoothly so you can focus on your business instead of chasing technical issues. Regular updates, backups and monitoring save time, money and stress.
If your website is quietly slipping down the priority list, now is the perfect time to bring it back into shape. A little maintenance goes a long way.
I can also offer your clients this service if you do not have time for your website agency.
Have a great Sunday everyone and reach out if you would like more information.

You know that old saying about the carpenter’s house always being the last to get finished? Yep… that was me.

I’ve been building and refreshing websites for other business owners for years, but my own site? Outdated, neglected, and quietly sitting at the bottom of my to-do list. Between client work, proposals, troubleshooting, and helping others shine online, I just didn’t make time for my own.
But I finally did it. My website has had a proper refresh, cleaner design, clearer services, and a better reflection of what I actually do now (which is a lot more than I used to!).

If your website’s feeling a bit tired or doesn’t quite match where your business is at, I get it. And I’d love to help.
