/ META ADS TRAP //
Meta just gave every business owner AI tools for their ads. That's exciting. Here's the problem.

Access to better tools has never been what separated good ad results from average ones.

It's knowing what to do with them.

Meta's AI tools are genuinely useful when you understand the strategy behind the inputs. When you don't, they make it faster and easier to waste your budget in ways that are harder to diagnose.

The businesses who'll benefit most? The ones with specialists watching the data.

Curious โ€” are you currently running your own Meta ads? What's your experience been?

/ THE REAL DECISION //
Many business owners think the decision is:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Hire a coach
๐Ÿ‘‰ Hire an agency

But that's rarely the real decision.

The real question is:

Because modern marketing isn't something you set up once and walk away from.

It requires:

โ€ข Testing
โ€ข Creative development
โ€ข Platform updates
โ€ข Tracking and attribution
โ€ข Optimisation
โ€ข Ongoing decision-making

And eventually, that responsibility becomes heavy.

Not because you're incapable.

Because marketing has become a full-time discipline in its own right.

I recently wrote more about this and why so many business owners find themselves stuck in this exact decision.

The full letter is available on our website.

What stage are you at right now โ€” still managing marketing yourself, working with a coach, or partnering with an agency?

/ BEHIND THE ONBOARDING //
Here's what the first week actually looks like when a new client comes onboard at SAAR.

People expect us to start with the creative โ€” new graphics, fresh copy, a new content calendar.

We start with the data.

Before anything changes, we pull everything: ad account history, conversion tracking, landing page performance, email metrics.

Because almost without exception, there's something running that shouldn't be, something broken that's been silently costing money, or something missing that's made it impossible to know what's working.

That's not a criticism of the business owner. It's just what happens when you're running a business and also trying to run your own marketing.

What does your onboarding experience with a new supplier usually feel like?

Comment with your experience.

๐Ÿšจ The biggest mistake business owners make when it comes to marketing?

They compare coaching and agencies as if they're solving the same problem.

They're not.

One helps you learn marketing.
The other takes marketing off your plate.

The real question is: where is your time best spent?

/ ALGORITHM JUST MADE DIY HARDER //
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn โ€” they all made the same change in 2026. Most business owners haven't adjusted yet.

Every major platform has quietly moved from a follow-based feed to an interest-based one.

That means the followers you've spent years building no longer guarantee your content gets seen.

The algorithm now pushes content to people based on what they engage with โ€” not who they follow.

If you're managing your own marketing, that's one more variable to stay across, test for, and optimise. If you have a team doing it โ€” they're already on it.

What's your current approach to organic reach? Genuinely curious. Drop it in the comments.

/ THE HIDDEN COST //
Most business owners think DIY marketing saves money.

Sometimes it does.

But money isnโ€™t usually the resource being spent.

Time is.

Every hour spent creating content, learning platforms, managing campaigns, or troubleshooting marketing is an hour not spent on sales, operations, customers, or leading the business.

Thatโ€™s the trade-off many business owners underestimate.

The real cost of DIY marketing often isnโ€™t financial.

Itโ€™s opportunity cost.

We recently shared a deeper perspective on this topic and why itโ€™s worth thinking about before deciding how to approach your marketing.

/ HIDDEN TAX ON DIY MARKETING //
What's your marketing actually costing you each month? Probably more than you think.

Most business owners count their ad spend and call it done.

But there's a second bill they're not tracking โ€” the hours spent creating, posting, managing, adjusting, and wondering why it's not working yet.

At $80/hour opportunity cost, 10 hours a week is $3,200 a month before a single ad dollar leaves your account.

We broke it down across a full quarter. The numbers are confronting.

Have a look at the carousel and tell us โ€” does this match what you've been experiencing?

If you want us to review what you're currently spending (and whether it's returning anything), comment YES below and we'll send you a link.

/ INSIDE PRE-SCALE AUDIT //
Every client who wants to scale their ad spend goes through our pre-scale audit first. Here's what we actually look at.

It's not about being overly cautious. It's about not wasting someone's money.

When a client wants to increase their budget, we run a structured audit first. We check tracking integrity, attribution accuracy, creative health, landing page performance, and campaign structure.

Most of the time we find something โ€” a misfiring conversion event, a landing page that loads in 6 seconds on mobile, creative running untouched for 3 months.

Fixing these before scaling saves significantly more than the audit takes.

Comment below if you'd like to see the full checklist.

/ WE SAID NO //
A business came to us with a budget ready to spend. We couldn't take it. Here's the full story.

Turning away business isn't something agencies love to talk about.

But last month a business came to us wanting to run Meta ads โ€” $2,000/month budget, ready to go. Their website had a 0.4% conversion rate. Average session duration under 40 seconds. No clear offer above the fold.

We told them honestly: if we run ads to this site right now, we'll spend your money and not get you results. The site needs to be the priority.

We could have taken the brief. Instead, we told them: fix the website first.

That conversation matters more than the invoice.

Have you had an agency be honest with you like this?
