Women in Work at is a certified social enterprise that provides a flexible mobile childcare service for organisations that support parents and families. Women in Work employs childcare certified migrant and refugee women who are experiencing barriers to employment as our childcare educators.

All profits from Women in Work directly support their training, skill development, and pathways to employment.

Diversity and inclusion is important to us at T&G.

Diversity of thought is a necessary ingredient of creativity and we hanker for our team excursions to fill our creative cups. This time, none other than National Gallery of Victoria's Triennial where we were mesmerised by the work of over 120 artists, designers and collectives at the forefront of global contemporary practice.

The diverse range of mediums and design styles featured in the exhibition were a refreshing source of inspiration. It was a powerful reminder that challenging the norm can lead to unexpected breakthroughs and innovation. Just what the world needs right now.

As we reach another International Women’s Day, we're reflecting on how we, an agency largely made up of incredible women, feel about it.

Culturally, IWD feels like it’s become just another day in the corporate social calendar, after Pride and before Easter.

But to us, gender equality is never far from our thoughts, conversations and actions both inside and outside the office.

So, we subscribe to the Never Not Creative school of thought, and that is it will Never Not be International Women’s Day until all women have the opportunity to earn, learn and lead - equally. 🌍♀️

Back in action! ✨

The holidays were a blast, filled with festive cheer, laughter and some serious relaxation (but sadly not that much sun, thanks Melbourne). As the calendar flips to a new year, we're back in the swing of things and excited to dive into the opportunities that lie ahead.

We all understand the textbook definition of courage, right? Of daring to be different, embracing the unknown, and being brave when the scary stuff happens. But courage in the landscape of purpose-driven business is a more specific beast, so we got some inspo from someone who knows all about it.

At our recent masterclass on Brands for Good, we were thrilled to welcome Sarah Anne Munro, Director of Brand and Marketing Alchemy Construct, as a guest speaker. She and her husband Jamie started their business in 2015 and have worked hard over the years to really drill down into how to do things differently.

Today, their business has transformed and is delivering ‘Buildings of Impact’ in more ways than one.

We love a bit of PD at T&G and our Senior Designer KerryAnn Bartle recently got a good dose of inspo attending the Adobe Max 2023 Conference.

The event offered a snapshot of some of the new and exciting enhancements that are being integrated into the Adobe
suite of programs and gave KerryAnn the chance to see what’s coming up to that hits refresh on some of design’s most fundamental tools.

“What was particularly interesting was Adobe’s advancements into the space of generative AI”, KerryAnn said. “I was impressed by their pledge to develop creative generative AI ‘responsibly’, and their mission to give creators every advantage — not just creatively, but practically”.

There were of course plenty of highlights, but KerryAnn’s top 3 were:
I. Generative Expand and Generative Fill, now built into Photoshop. Gone are the days
of trying to piece together photos of likenesses with hours of retouching to achieve a
believable outcome.

2. New generative AI tools, that enable you to generate vector-based illustrations, subjects, scenes, and icons in Illustrator by entering simple prompts. However, I experimented with this program enhancement and believe it’s still in its infancy at this early stage.

3. Hearing from other designers about their creative processes and what inspires them. How they break free from the algorithm, are proud of their flops, how they seek respect, not attention, their thoughts on Human+AI being a strong combination to take design to new heights, embracing boredom as their secret weapon to creativity and making time to play.

In the interests of getting the spotlight onto things that matter, we entered one of our favourite brands Melio Skincare into the RGD 2023 Branding Awards and they won!

The category was 'Branding identity for a new brand' and the awards were announced last night in Toronto. 🌟🌟

This work was completed in close collaboration with Melio, to create a brand that focuses on inclusivity, sustainability, and efficacy.

The name, the tagline, the colour choices and the brand ID were all crafted collaboratively to encapsulate their ethos of 'meliorism' - improving the world through human effort.
