$80K MIFF XR COMMISSION
The Melbourne International Film Festival XR Commission closes this Thursday. Submissions are open to Australian artists from all disciplines, whether it be filmmaking, digital media, game development, visual art or theatre. The successful project will have its world premiere at MIFF’s 70th edition, to be held: 4 – 21 August 2022. Melbourne International Film Festival

MIFF is a not-for-profit organisation that has been continuously running since 1952, making it the leading film festival in Australia and one of the world’s oldest film festivals, alongside Cannes and Berlin.

- INTERNATIONAL VR FILM OF THE YEAR
- AUSTRALIAN VR FILM OF THE YEAR.
This category is open to all countries and is an "International" Award. Creating an immersive, spatial, and original virtual reality film is very new territory for many filmmakers. All nominations must substantially feature virtual reality to create a comfortable and enjoyable experience for the viewer. Can include a short film, interactive pieces, and design work within VR.
