InDesign Tip: Photos come in all resolutions and sizes. When deciding on which photos to use in your InDesign documents, be sure to use photos that are appropriate for the intent of your document. If you plan on printing your document, be sure to use high resolution images that will print nice and sharp. For digital/online jobs we can use images at lower resolutions. It's not only the resolution but also the scale or dimensions of the photo that are also important. If you enlarge an image once it's imported, this will effectively reduce its resolution. We can check the scale and resolution of our photos in InDesign by using our Links panel.

While you lockdown, it's the perfect time to up skill.

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic evolves, at Short and Suite we are continuing to offer our students tailored one-on-one Adobe training.

We have now moved all our quality Adobe training and content online. So you can continue to up skill with your own personal qualified Adobe trainer via live webinars. It’s still one-on-one Adobe training – just from the comfort of your own home or office.

We have already started and are running our quality Adobe training everyday, Monday to Saturday.

You will need your own laptop or desktop with the appropriate Adobe software installed. You will also need internet connection and a quiet room.

Training is available as half days, one, two and three day packs. Please get in contact for our webinar training price lists for each of our courses.

Stay home and stay safe and well. We are in this together – but separately, for now.

For those Mac users still running CS6 and yet to subscribe to Adobe's Creative Cloud, be warned. The latest major release of Apple's desktop operating system for Macintosh computers isn't compatible with InDesign CS6. macOS Catalina is the successor to 2018's macOS Mojave. Catalina fully ends support for 32-bit apps like InDesign CS6. So if you plan to keep CS6 running on your Mac, go to your System Preferences and check your Software Update settings. Make sure you haven't got "Automatically keep my Mac up to date" checked.

Recently returned from Sydney where we have started running our tailored Adobe training. I had the pleasure of working with Michaela from The Butterfly Foundation. Staff at the foundation do amazing work supporting people with eating disorders. We focussed on creating engaging graphics in Adobe Illustrator that we then prepared for use on Instagram.

WELCOME! We are excited to welcome Aaron as one of our new Adobe trainers. Aaron is a qualified graphic designer (BA in Visual Communication Design) and concept artist working in Melbourne. He has almost 10 years experience using the Adobe suite. With a passion for photography, Aaron loves Adobe Photoshop. He is also proficient in training in InDesign and Illustrator. Aaron’s friendly approach to teaching and sharing his skills aligns well with Short and Suite’s learning culture. We asked Aaron some quick questions to get to know him a little better:
