Alepp is a beautiful gentle product steeped in thousands of years of tradition, an ancient laurel berry and olive oil soap that nourishes your body, face and hair. Alepp is a social enterprise, born during the 2020 pandemic with 100% of profits going to support asylum seekers and refugees by partnering with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) who are Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum.
It was a simple and open brief — help bring an ancient product to the modern market.
Alepp approached The Duck’s Guts with open minds and full creative trust, there was a perfect opportunity to work as partners on bringing this important vision to life. With the core principle of giving back to those in need, the brand identity needed a delicate balance of premium elegance, and a firm nod to its sustainability and social justice foundations.
In order to create a unique packaging design that reflected the brand values, The Duck’s Guts envisioned an origami style multi folded concept and then partnered with specialist printers Hungry Workshop who produced an intricate letter-pressed, embossed, custom packaging using FSC Certified paper. Cool, hey?
The website was designed and developed using Webflow in partnership with .me — skilfully creating a shopfront that reflected the brand character with the help of some striking photography from a number of talented and passionate artists, as well as some honest and simple messaging.
What we created for Alepp was not only multidimensional, but incredibly significant in its purpose — reflecting a big vision, an operational business, a registered charity and a social enterprise — and we are immensely proud of the result.
