Jumping into freelancing wasn't just a career switch for me; it was like stepping into a whole new world where every moment counted.

Sodalite Comms isn't my first rodeo; there was Jewel + Jung Digital Studio before it – my first taste of the freelance life.

It all kicked off in the wild year of 2020, with the pandemic doing its thing and a little bundle of joy named Eugene in tow. Balancing new motherhood with the wild ride of freelancing and entrepreneurship was like juggling flaming torches.

Imagine late-night work sessions with my laptop, Eugene peacefully snoozing beside me, and those Zoom meetings with clients in different time zones becoming our nightly ritual. A quick pause to settle Eugene back to sleep, seamlessly switching between mum duties and business hustle.

Fast forward to today, and Eugene spends four days at daycare, giving me the chance to draw clearer lines between my job and life. My attempt to work from home was like navigating a maze of distractions – chores calling my name or taking a "short" break that wasn’t so short.

So, I found my haven in a co-working space, where I dive into focused work after a morning gym session post-drop-off. The charm of freelancing now is in its evolution – from bedside hustle to a more structured routine that lets me seamlessly toggle between work mode and mum mode.

For me, freelancing isn't just about the job; it's about having the freedom to shape a life that fits. It's about taking charge of my time, setting the rhythm of my days.

This journey is like an ongoing painting, where work and the things that truly matter coexist in a beautifully messy harmony.
