Designing a brand’s visual identity is not just about creating a BrandMark.

It’s about building the right look & feel, selecting the most effective color combinations, and, above all, ensuring that the brand perception fully reflects what the client envisions.

Every element or symbol must be harmonious and integrated, working in balance with the overall visual identity.

The day could have started better… but putting on some music and working on these patterns helped me end it with a smile. 😊

I originally designed them as postcards, but they’ll actually have a double purpose 👀

They’re already off to print,
and I can’t wait to show you how they’ll transform! ✌️

Sometimes, design is exactly what you need to put things back into perspective.

Feeling overwhelmed by managing your socials? You’re not alone! 😎

Hi, I’m Paola — a brand designer and strategist helping small businesses stand out with clear, authentic, and professional communication.

Over the past few months, I’ve spoken to many small business owners and noticed a common theme: social media often feels more like a stress than a growth tool.

To help, I created the BASIC SOCIAL STARTER package — designed to organise and professionalise your online presence by 23 June.

Who is it for?

🌟 Small business owners ready to stop winging it on socials.
🌟 Entrepreneurs and creators launching projects or brands who want a consistent, professional look on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, or Pinterest — without the overwhelm.

What’s included?
🌟 3 x Branded, reusable visual templates for IG, LinkedIn, FB, or Pinterest
🌟 3 x Highlight covers for Instagram
🌟 1 x profile graphic or banner (IG header, LinkedIn banner, or Pinterest cover)

Investment: $340 AUD
Available until: 23 June only

They say you need to have your own style — something that makes you recognisable and sets you apart.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I have one signature style.
But what I do know is that every project I’ve worked on has been an explosion of colour, a search for unique forms, and most of all… pure fun!

Each brand I create has its own personality — shaped by the client’s expectations, their style, their culture, and the story they want to tell. And I love adapting to that.

Here are just a few from the journey so far:
- The Dumpling Artisan 🍜 – for a dumpling shop in - Memento 📸 – a photography studio in - SuperKids 👶 – a childcare centre in - Witnest 🧠 – an online wellness & mental health platform- Sensis 🏡 – a fresh take for a real estate agency
Each one is different, and that’s what makes this work so exciting.
Which logo speaks to you the most? Drop your fave in the comments! 👇

For those who don’t know my story, becoming a freelancer with my own clients is something truly special. Maybe because I’ve worked incredibly hard to get here.

I’m originally from Southern Italy, where opportunities were scarce—but that only fuelled my passion to become a graphic designer.

As a kid, I didn’t play video games—I played with Photoshop. I loved watching an image transform, adding colour, creating shapes in Illustrator. My biggest hobby was writing rhymes. I’d collect old newspapers, absorb every new word that intrigued me, and use them in my lyrics. That passion led me to record my first rap LP at age 20.

It was only natural to study communication and marketing. I loved it—but design has always been my true obsession. I learned from the best in my area, knocking on doors, asking to be mentored, and discovering that great design isn’t just aesthetic—it’s conceptual. I worked on institutional projects guided by professionals who shared my love for creativity and strategy.

Then I moved to Australia. Everything changed. Here, you need to be an expert—people expect depth. Working with major retailers and well-known brands helped shape me into the designer and strategist I am today. I have over 10 years of experience and still struggle to shut my laptop at night—not from pressure, but from passion.
Call it too much—I call it love for what I do. And I’m proud of it. 🌟

I took a moment to focus on a presentation I’m putting together for a client who’s launching a new business. They reached out for help with logo and website design, but before diving into the creative side, I wanted to create a presentation to guide them through the crucial steps that come first.

Before focusing on design, it’s essential to develop a solid business plan, define an effective marketing strategy, and put together a clear action plan to build a strong and lasting brand.

If you’re in the process of starting your own business and need some guidance, send me a DM! I’d be happy to share the presentation with you—I hope it helps you get clarity and manage the workload more effectively.

You’re not in this alone! Remember: a great brand starts with a well-thought-out strategy.

Logo Designer = Designer of Marks
Brand Designer = Designer of Visual Identity & Brand Foundation
Brand Designer & Strategist = Your Strategic Design Partner

What’s the difference? 🤔

Think about when your dad used to get a simple design printed on every t-shirt or sign—today, the designer’s role has evolved. A brand designer is more than just a logo creator; they’re your partner in building your brand’s foundation. From defining mission, vision, and values to identifying your target audience, they help guide your brand’s direction.
It doesn’t stop there. They ensure consistency across all visuals—art direction, photography, website design, and packaging. Every detail, from email templates to social posts, is aligned to build a recognisable brand experience.
So no, a designer doesn’t just ‘make the logo’. They help shape, align, and elevate your brand every day. ✨

💡 Quality over quantity – always.

In a world that glorifies speed and volume, real success comes from standing out, not blending in. A brand built on quality creates deeper connections, lasting trust, and a reputation that speaks for itself.

🚀 Would you rather have 10 customers who love what you do or 100 who forget about you tomorrow?

Only when I break free from the constraints imposed by others can I truly express my design, my style, my thoughts through the lens of art.

For many, Monday feels like a sentence, and I get it.

When you're faced with the weight and relentless pace of a week that keeps demanding more, it can be hard to keep up, and you often don’t even have time for yourself.

But when you're the entrepreneur of your own life, work becomes more enjoyable, and you actually look forward to ticking off every item on your to-do list.

Monday can be amazing because, in reality, you're working for yourself! Every task you complete for your business fuels your motivation and pushes you to find energy in everything else.

It's a burst of positive energy that carries through all your activities for the week. When you’re in charge of your own life, everything around you shifts, and you change too.

When creating a brand, it's essential to consider the cultural context.

This year, I’ve been inspired by Chinese New Year and had the opportunity to design a logo for the occasion. As I was working on it, I found myself wondering about the strong presence of red—featured in everything from paper decorations to merchandise. I soon discovered that the use of red has deep cultural roots. According to legend, the monster Nian (年兽) was afraid of red, loud noises, and fire, which is why traditions like fireworks and red decorations were born to ward off negative energy.

An interesting aspect of this is that while red represents luck, happiness, and protection in China, in Western cultures, it is often associated with urgency and danger.
This is why, when working with a brand and choosing to use red, it’s crucial to take the cultural context into account—especially the audience that will be perceiving it. The meaning of colour varies greatly across cultures and experiences, so balancing red with other colours is key.
For example:
🔴 Red + Black + White → Creates a sophisticated elegance with a strong visual impact.
🟠 Red + Orange + Yellow → Amplifies energy and attraction, forming a vibrant, dynamic palette.
Red has a unique power: when used thoughtfully, it can elevate a brand and make it unforgettable. ✨
How do you incorporate red and other bold colours into your designs? Which colour combinations have worked best for you in making a lasting impression? Share your thoughts in the comments!

🎾 Why Does the Australian Open Feel Different?

For me, the AO isn’t just a tennis tournament—it’s a masterclass in branding and a vibe all its own.
Every detail, from the electric blue courts to the vibrant visuals, the playful animations, and the music echoing through the grounds, feels designed to pull you in and leave a lasting impression.

✨ The evolution—from Happy Slam to Hit Different—captures this bold, magnetic energy.🎨 The colors, dynamic designs, and motion graphics bring the brand to life in unforgettable ways.🌈 And the inclusivity? You feel it everywhere. Everyone belongs here.

Every year, I leave the AO inspired—not just by the players but by the brand experience. It’s bold, fun, and uniquely Aussie.
