Hi, my name is Ross Gardner, I’m a Gold Coast web designer and developer, specialising in custom Wordpress websites and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). I have always felt that I was creative and possessed a natural ability when it came to computers, even as a child playing on the Commodore 64 I knew there was some sort of connection when I used to start games in DOS opposed to using the conventi

onal key method. Then in 2000 I was awarded a compensation payout for injuries that I sustained in a car crash with a pizza delivery guy. I finally had enough money to buy my first computer and within weeks of the purchase I was making my own music, mixing and recording guitar tracks and creating art in Photoshop. My girlfriend at the time mentioned that I should consider doing an advanced computer course which I agreed, so after looking over a few courses that interested me, I decided to enrol for the Diploma of Multimedia at the Gold Coast Institute of Tafe at Ashmore, Queensland, Australia. After my graduation with distinction in 2002, I actively pursued my new career path in Multimedia, studying, doing online tutorials, working part time construction and making a few dollars as a freelancer. I took on any job I could get and I worked on a variety of projects, including cartoons, 3D animations, website development, print design, photography, logo design, banners and small video productions, the money wasn’t good for the amount of time I spent on many of these projects but I would still take anything that I could get my hands on to help me expand and hone my computer skills, break free from construction and assist me in the dream of establishing my own web design / multimedia business. Over the past 15 years I have worked on countless projects, most unassisted and because of the diversity of many of these projects that I had undertaken, I was able to develop an extensive array of skills; knowledge and industry experience across a variety of applications in the arena of multimedia and web development. Over this time I have built a great network of like-minded IT professionals that I can depend on for various projects when required and I have obtained a fantastic client base that regularly depend on the services that I provide. Working full time as a freelancer and enjoying the perks that comes with running my own business hasn’t come easy and it has been a long hard road. If it wasn’t for my personal persistence and determination to turn what I enjoy doing into my income and the support of my friends and family I would not be where I am now, and to them I am forever grateful. For now I am able to work full-time from my beach side studio on the Gold Coast, or anywhere else in the world for that matter as long as I have an internet connection. I have the flexibility of working my own hours, I can go surfing when I like, attend industry seminars and I never miss any of my children’s school and sporting events. The skills and abilities I have developed over the last decade now allows me to create beautiful, well designed and easily navigated websites that are not only responsive and display at an optimum level across all devices, but with my additional knowledge of SEO I am also able to get my clients websites ranking highly and in most cases on the first page on Google. I look forward to each and every day and am continually building on my business. Establishing new business relationships and strengthening existing ones by providing the best possible service I can.
