These beautiful set of icons were designed for the Vanity rebrand.

Opulence, calm and luxury to suit the positioning of the business and to match the mood of the rest of the rebrand aesthetic, which also including renaming of the salon.

These are so versatile for packaging, instagram highlights, stickers, for use on socials. Even blown up large as graphic elements for backgrounds of posts and print. Yet all tieing back to the main logo.

I’ve been contemplating recently what seems to tie my successful brand identity clients together.

A common thread 🪡 truely has been their mindset and personal confidence as a biz owner and not just when it’s a “personal brand”.

Feedback that testifies to a shift in them personally. Their pure excitement, a “spring in their step”… “happy dance”…

It makes me so so happy for them!

Tbh I’ve never seen it this way before 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve been contemplating recently what seems to tie my successful brand identity clients together.

A common thread 🪡 truely has been their mindset and personal confidence as a biz owner and not just when it’s a “personal brand”.

🌞 Say yes to custom branding by summer and say goodbye to frustrating DIY you’ve been battling this winter.

Ok so today was 20• here in the south but it felt waaaarm after many freezing frosty months. It got me excited for summer with my little girls and school holidays.

I really value 2 things about my business;
1. Giving custom branding projects the space they need to fully brew, flourish and finish

And

2. Being a present mum.

The reason I’m flagging this on a winters night as we head into the last week of August is that if you’ve been on the fence about investing in your business with the full brand identity it’s earned and deserves, it’s a great time to reach out.

You’ll head into summer, like a brand swanning down the beach all fresh and confident like the Girl from Ipanema, fully kitted out and getting all the eyes, and I’ll head into the end of the year knowing I’ve helped two more amazing businesses.

Giving up money and security is hugely scary for anyone.

Starting, restarting, redirecting yourself, all scary.

Especially when it is also paired with going "out on your own", finally "doing the thing" and "following your dreams".

I know what it is like though to feel so excited and confident deep down that you're going to make it work.

I hope me sharing my story is a boost and reminder for you today that lean fully into your story and your Reason for Being. That, and positioning yourself to be seen and heard are the best tools for building a brand.

Complimenting a brand with personality filled illustration.

Here is one of my favourites for

Each character personifying a regular at Metro, their day punctuated by a good latte, a lunch with friends, a Friday night dinner with family. I like this guy, smile on his face with a takeaway, a good stride in his step.

Good feelings, food and Kefi.

Over a few coffees and almond croissants 🥐 with Toni from Metro, while methodically yet conversationally going over the questions I ask in my strategy process, the same themes kept coming up. And I was all ears!

It revealed:

- The rebrand needed to feel warm, the logo; organic (nothing too straight on the edges) and friendly / inviting / welcoming (just like Metro)

- It was to include the Greek Key because of the symbolism and heritage it held

- the copy taglines were to capture "Kefi" which is now featured in a blurb on the menus (it was a story that deserved to be told)

- I wanted the logo to feel sophisticated but a little "wiggly", which I achieved with custom lettering with roughing up the edges with a fineliner

Now i'm craving almond croissants

I don’t mean to make this about me but… Metro was an “on brand“ rebrand for me. Let me explain why working with Metro was beyond a great client transformation…

💌 Toni, the founder of Metro, is someone who emphasises Raison Detre so working with her was such a joy

🪢 Toni loves verbal identity, you live it and you speak it! So working on a brand strategy just flowed! It was all about asking all the right questions, collating and distilling it all into a tasty concoction

🤌🏼 creating illustrations to strengthen the story telling flowed like the stories

🫶🏼Metro is such a well loved business with such an incredible community of staff and regulars, as well as strangers who instantly connect

🥨it’s so arty, if you’ve been there you know!

Versatile and full of stories! The brand illustrations for were inspired by the community of Metro, it’s staff and friends, a brand about people and connections. There honestly was so much to draw.
So brand patterns for Metro, what are they being used for? Currently on socials as backgrounds and as borders on menus. Into the future as shop wraps and printed products, even aprons! The options are definitely many for this personality filled brand to utilise!

I've heard it said “I don’t really need design for my business I just want to get going”. While it's tempting to jump right into business without any direction as where you are taking your brand, visually and strategically, it's important to recognise the impact this will have on success.

What is it costing you to NOT get your branding done properly, right now? In terms of loss of customer enquiries, your stress and wasted time etc?

Or have you been playing around with your own design for 6 months and not settled on a single thing, hence just not launching yet?

Design plays a pivotal role in attracting customers, building trust, and standing out in a sea of same-same. Investing in professional design sets you on the path to long-term growth and profitability. Don't underestimate the power of visual appeal in making a lasting impression- being utterly memorable.
