Hats off to you! YOU who have worked hard to get what you have now. For those who left their home countries to have better opportunities for you and your children and your generations to come. To you who have stayed back and still worked hard, never left, and reap the rewards of home life. Addison's prize giving.

It started at 7pm.

My 12 hour shift finished at 7pm.

At 6:50pm I was already walking out of security, getting changed as fast as I could, hoping I wouldn't miss her walking across that stage.

Everything felt rushed.

We walked in half an hour late.

Thank goodness they were still getting everyone seated.

We didn't miss a thing!!

I look back now and think...

Why does it have to be like this?

I know what it's like to work hard and sacrifice for your family.

I also know what it's like to nearly miss the moments that matter because of it.

Time is the one thing we never get back.

I'm becoming a lot more conscious of where my time is spent.

Where are you trading your time for the people you value most? ♡

I sit in my truck at the start of a shift.
Heart racing. Tears in my eyes.

Work is really getting to me.

I know I am ready for something different and more.

I have spent years in the mines. Admin. Safety. Training. Services. Production. Magazine keeper. Showing up, doing the work, carrying more than most people will ever see.

But turning up has stopped feeling the same.
And I can't keep ignoring it.

So I made a decision most people talk themselves out of.

I said yes.
Yes to learning something new.
Yes to stepping outside what is familiar.
Yes to building a life beyond mining.

This isn't about running from hard work. I have never been afraid of that.

I am choosing growth, even when it feels uncomfortable. Trusting that it is never too late to start again.

If you have ever felt that voice telling you your current life isn't the one you are meant to stay in... I want you to hear this.

The biggest shift begins the moment you decide you are no longer willing to ignore what your heart is asking for.
