When teaching screen printing workshops I recommend using the old “KISS” principle!
😘💋💛💋
No, no, nothing sinister here!
It stands for Keep It Simple (Stupid).
It’s easy to overthink our designs, making them complex and detailed. 🤯
But as you can see, keeping is simple (sometimes stupidly so) is by far the best way for students to approach their designs when creating stencils in a workshop setting with limited time.
The beauty of this craft is that you can let the layers do the work of creating extra details. More on that later… but for now, here’s how I created the ever popular “citrus got real” prints in my collection.
Easy peasy!
