the ‘practical yolker’, keeping things cosy at Wentworth Falls. 🐓

this one was a custom order, a chookie print designed to match the beautiful fiery red hair of a very special granddaughter. now it is living its best life by the fire in the Blue Mountains.

this is what I love most about custom orders. every piece has a story behind it. and it was so popular i kept printing it. (more coming soon!)

interested in a custom design? get in touch via the link in bio.

Today we held another fantastic intro to screen printing workshop LITTLE LANE ART AND CRAFT WORKSHOPS 💛🫟

Once again the class blew me away with their talent and the prints they created!

What a lovely bunch (as always) and I am so chuffed to see them all really enjoy themselves.

Looking forward to the next one!

I’m officially back!
Things have been a little quiet this year for The Screenery. I had to tools down for a few months (7ish) to help my parents downsize and to care for them (a LOT has been happening in the background!)
It feels GREAT to be getting back in the zone, and what better way to do so… I found this little retro gem at my parents house - a book on “Napkin Folding”!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻💛

Mum has always been a fantastic entertainer, with fresh linen napkins on the table and theming that was perfectly aligned to whatever incredible cuisine she was creating for her friends and family. 🤩

So it’s no surprise that I found this book, and flicking through immediately recognising some of these crackers!
I can distinctly remember having to iron and fold napkins to help mum who I might have mentioned before, is a total perfectionist! 😅😂

Watch this space to see how I go with my napkin folding series. 🤞🏻🪭🦆

When teaching screen printing workshops I recommend using the old “KISS” principle!
😘💋💛💋
No, no, nothing sinister here!
It stands for Keep It Simple (Stupid).

It’s easy to overthink our designs, making them complex and detailed. 🤯

But as you can see, keeping is simple (sometimes stupidly so) is by far the best way for students to approach their designs when creating stencils in a workshop setting with limited time. 🫟

The beauty of this craft is that you can let the layers do the work of creating extra details. More on that later… but for now, here’s how I created the ever popular “citrus got real” prints in my collection.
Easy peasy!
