Starting small, reaching high
So, you’re probably wondering what Breathe In Designs actually is... Well, let me begin where it all started. I was a teenager. I was a church volunteer and Library Studies student, but I had a dream. I wanted to do full time cartooning, video editing and logo design. But I had no training. I started simply editing video announcements for church every week, and doing youth ministry flyers. This ranged from comic book foldouts to full posters to business cards. I did all of this using GIMP and Corel Draw, completely from copying styles from other designers and making them my own. It DEFINITELY got the job done for the time, but I needed to hone my skills. I eventually started using Photoshop and PIXLR to do more advanced editing of images for other churches and businesses down the line, but the most important event was my wedding on 2007. We had limited funds, and decided to do ALL the design ourselves. From invitations to the handouts at the door, I designed each and every paper object myself, trying to desperately show how much I love my wife and God at the same time. Once I did this, I knew that I wanted to pursue it further. Cut to 2018, and I’m doing two YouTube channels with all thumbnails and social graphics, all promos and cover art, and all livestreaming and course creation. I’m hooked. I use Canva, PIXLR, GIMP, QUIK and other brilliant tools like WIX to create beautiful designs and video content for all manner of people, from gardeners to cooks, from startups to churches. My branding is strong, my vision clear, and my skills have vastly improved having studied a Diploma in Applied IT for a year. I love working with people to create what they want, and love seeing them so happy to FINALLY have their very own website up and running that brings in customers and clients year round. That’s what I love to do, and that’s our story!!!
