Here's the bit we think everyone gets backwards: a logo is usually the last thing you should nail down, not the first.

Before any of that, there's the actual brand, the thinking, the positioning, the voice, the values, the stuff that makes people feel something. That part takes real conversations, real decisions, real understanding of a business and the human/ humans behind it.

It’s the one part AI will never be able to do for you. It can generate a logo in seconds.
It cannot sit with you and figure out who you actually are, and create something that is unique to you.

People think a logo is a brand, it’s not.

Iv’e watched Google Ads change more in the last 12 months than the previous five combined.

AI-powered campaigns are taking over, manual control is shrinking, and a lot of businesses are handing their budget to an algorithm and hoping for the best.

Here's what I've learned after a decade of running ads, AI is a brilliant tool. But it needs strategy behind it. It needs someone who understands the goal, the audience, and what good actually looks like.

Without that? It just spends your budget faster.

Been thinking about this a lot lately. The industry's shifted so fast, cheaper, faster, more "AI- assisted" than ever, and it's easy to feel like you need to keep up by cutting corners too.

We're not doing that. We’re going deeper, not cheaper, even when it's slower. What we do is considered work, with a strategy built to last any trend.
Curious if anyone else is feeling this shift too

This week, through our team’s eyes 🐝

I gave everyone a simple task: one photo a day, no brief, no direction. Just whatever felt worth capturing.
Runs after work. Teaching yoga at Yoga & Sound . Sushi lunch, which took forever to get because of school holidays.
A few meetings around the local area and Moorebank.

Our weeks don’t always look like this. We talk a lot about sustainable pace around here. This is what that actually looks like in practice for us.

The best colour combos are literally free.

If theres one thing that never fails, it’s taking time in nature, or simply slowing down enough to see what’s already been naturally made.

Opening up your fridge or going through your fruit bowl can give you more inspo than scouring the internet for hours through noise that is oversaturated or “trending.”

The simplicity of design and the thought that goes behind colour combos that complement each other does not have to be overthought.

Sure strategy comes into play, including who you’re speaking too and your demographic, but colour theory, that can be inspired by nature.

Real social media strategy requires something that can't be picked up from a free course or a six-week certification.

It requires understanding how a brand thinks, how its audience makes decisions, what kind of trust takes months to build and seconds to lose and how to create content that doesn't just fill a grid but actually moves people closer to a yes.

The industry has a qualification problem, not because credentials don't matter, but because the most important ones aren't issued by anyone.

They come from years of doing the work.

From understanding strategy deeply enough to know when to follow the playbook and when to throw it out, from having enough experience to know that what worked for someone else might quietly damage what you're building.

The difference between a brand and a business.

This is one of those distinctions that quietly changes everything once you really sit with it.

A lot of brilliant businesses are invisible, not because their work isn't good, but because their brand hasn't been given the chance to speak.

Your website might be the most visited version of your brand, and for a lot of businesses, it's also doesn’t reflect who they really are.

It was built in a rush, or from a template, or at a stage when you didn't quite have the words for what you do yet, and now it sits there, technically functional but quietly out of alignment with everything you've grown into.

Your website should feel like walking into your world.

It should sound like you on your best day and it should make the right person feel immediately seen, and make the wrong person self-select out, kindly and naturally.

This one's a little vulnerable to share, but I think it matters.

I made a deliberate choice early on this year to keep our client roster small, this wasn’t because we couldn't grow.

But because we didn't want to lose what makes this work good.

Here's the honest version of that decision.
