day two ( a day late )

Looking at green things this time, frogs stuck out to me and while there are many green frogs, sadly they are just plain green.
Until I struck upon the European green toad, stunning. It’s mainly cream in colour the bright green markings stuck out and shows various shades of green. I think regardless of a beige frog, I nailed the green palette. What do you think?

day one

You helped me pick a colour which if you haven’t guessed it - 🟦 blue
I didn’t really have a plan other than I wanted to do something in a circle and simple, I ended up removing the strokes afterwards and liked how it looked. I still heavily lack confidence in myself so I hope this challenge pushes me to create and love what I do.

Project: Stamps

Probably one of the biggest games during lockdown was animal crossing. It really did make time go away and completely forget what was happening outside. I like many others have probably never played it since but I’ve been thinking about it lately, maybe it’s out of nostalgia but I do want to get into it again so why not to close out this video game theme stamp lot with Mr Tom Nook himself
I played with some gradients for the first time and I think it really added to it and brought him to life

Project: Stamps

Had to do a Newcastle Jets themed stamp after the incredible win yesterday from the women’s team against western United showcasing apart of their logo and the No 2 sports ground. I love soccer/football but have always mainly supported the English league as I never really knew about our A league. It’s been a blast going to games and watching it live on tv so why not a Newcastle jets stamp to add to the collection
So close to the finals girls, you can do it!

Echidna is up! And how do you make a complex looking creature simple? This was the best way I could think of to do it while keeping its image. Next three stamps I do will be a different theme to change things up and then I’ll go back and forth adding more to existing themes. Hope you guys like them!

Platypus is next for stamps, I liked working out the colour palette for this and think it worked out well. I’m also enjoying learning to love the simplicity of this, while I still have that voice in my head saying I need to add more, it’s finally nice to grasp the concept of less is more and be content with it.

Project: Stamps

As mentioned before, I think stamps are cool and are so versatile so I’ll probably do them a lot. Went with a magpie this time as we have a family of them that visit quite abit for food, we can almost tell them apart and it’s always nice hearing their warbles of a morning. I decided to add traditional stamp features this time to add that extra touch to it and I’m happy I did. Hope you enjoy my stamp designs! Why is there no emoji for one?!

Third and last stamp for this week is the Obelisk.
This was fun and different to do for the week instead of spending gruelling hours on one design, I was able to do these in a much quicker time and it was fun to do.

Project: Newcastle Stamps

Second stamp is on Nobby’ lighthouse, this is one of the more iconic things I think of when I hear the word Newcastle. This was a little harder to do but still fun and still exploring the simple style. Also all suns will be sunsets until I can figure out how to do a nice blue sky 🥲

Project: Newcastle Stamps

A quick stamp project this week while I’m feeling under the weather. Something I’ve never felt like I was good at is simplicity. I love detail so I always feel out of my zone when doing single weight bold lines and minimal.
What I do like though is stamps and their layout so let’s combine the two and make some stamps of Newcastles iconic spots.

Devil’s draught beer brand featuring illustration, packaging, coasters and cans

I wanted to go full illustration for this rather than text as I felt that would fit the branding abit better and be more memorable.
I really enjoyed doing this one for fun, I can really feel myself getting confident and having fun learning the process. I was so hard on myself before but I’m really happy with this.
