I saw this analogy yesterday and it reminded me to tell you something.
It’s kind of awkward to tell you, but you’re just not for everyone. 😬
Don’t worry, you’re still bloody amazing! Plenty of people might need what you do, but not all of them are going to be the right fit.
Service-based businesses, I’m looking straight at you.
Stop trying to market to everyone! 🙅🏻♀️
The trick isn’t working out how to appeal to everyone. It’s getting really clear on who YOU are.
Go beyond “we offer great service” and get into the nitty gritty.
What do you value?
How do you like to work?
What do you do differently?
What gets you fired up about your work?
Then show it. The way you see and feel it.
Write your website copy so it sounds like you and create content that shows your personality and your values.
When you’re real about who you are, the right people recognise themselves in it.
Apple people are never gonna be Samsung people, and both brands are thriving in their own lanes.
Now more than ever, in a crazy world of AI ‘sameness’ bee 🐝 true to you! 🙏
I firmly believe like attracts like.
Ten clients who get you, value what you do and don’t need “convincing” are worth far more than 50 who you waste countless hours and energy on and will probably leave you to work with someone they align with better anyway!
Back to the meaning of the metaphor: people who know their worth don't waste energy arguing with those who'll never get it.
🐝 amazing to the ones who give a 💩
(Sorry, couldn’t resist 😜)
What’s your favourite type of client to work with? 👇
Or more importantly are you camp apple 🍎 or Samsung 🤖?
